What about Nissan Skyline GT-R R32
It started in Japan and the year was 1989. The Skyline GT-R R32 finally revved the 2.6L twin turbo engine for the first time. Engine that feeds 276 horses. Oh yes, that’s stock, but if you think it’s not enough, please, be my guest and go ahead – add as many mods as you can get. The straight 6 cylinder engine doesn’t mind. The R32 is equipped with electronically controlled AWD system which was later standard equipment for the next generations.
Nissan were trying hard to produce a vehicle that will reach the top of JTCC group A series. AND THEY DID IT!
R32 was dominating on the race track. With 29 wins it was known to be an unstoppable Godzilla. That’s right R32 is the model which earned the well-known Godzilla nickname.
Pros & Cons
As I mentioned in the beginning, the 6 cylinder engine is strong enough to hold up to 850hp. For petrol heads this doesn’t bring just more fun when driving. Happiness comes when you see your baby get faster and stronger. Buying parts does not mean spending money but adding power and visual enhancements.
Unfortunately there is price for the additional horses. And once again I am not talking about money. Back in the years Japanese cars are known to have narrow-drive oil pumps. This leads to oil losses. It’s so cool that there is an oil-pressure gauge but don’t trust it on 100%. Transmission could also get damaged because of the additional power. But in the end of the day those are things that you’ve calculated in the beginning.
