Geneva international motor show 2019 / What's the best electric car?
After I had a test drive in a Tesla last year, I took the decision that my next car should be fully electric. Less or more I have to buy a new car in the next two years. From there on I kept me updated on new electric cars, new options, price, future revealing and so on....
MY CAR
My actual drive: Volvo C30 T5 / 220PS
Average consumption: 10l/100km
Country: Switzerland
What are my main specs I'm looking for:
- Space
- Price
- Range
- Chargetime
- Power
- Design
- Warranty
I want to use my future electric car as my daily drive, the minimum range should be 300km or more.
I love driving so the car should have a normal power 200PS or more, I don't want to fall asleep while driving ;)
The possibility to drive 4-5 people must be given, and it should have some storage space.
For me the interior and external design it's not the most important point, but is should look okay and not already old.
In point of warranty, it's important to know what will happen if I will have some problems with the battery after two years? Yes the most electric cars are not here for more than 5 years so it's not that easy to know if the battery will work for at least 8-10years, or from when on it will start dropping on performance.
What have I already test driven?
Tesla Model S
Hyundai Kona electric
What cars would be an option for me?
Nissan Leaf
Tesla Model S
Tesla Model Y
Tesla Model 3
Tesla Model X
Hyundai Kona electric
Renault Zoe
Audi e-tron
Jaguar I-PACE
Am I missing one? If yes hit me up in the comments!
TESLA
The only Tesla that I can afford right now would be the Model 3, what I love is the Model S and the Model X. Here is my problem I have test driven the Model S and I'm in love with that car. In my country (Switzerland) the first Model 3's were delivered these days, so I could not test drive it right now. Myself I'm not sure if I like the Model 3 or not, something seems to disturb me from the exterior and the interior, it's looking really cheap for those 65'000CHF I would have to spend on it.
Model X:
Model S:
Model 3:
Model Y:
Space: Model X & S great, Model 3 it's okay but I don't like the opening of the back
Price: expensive, Model S 100'000 CHF; Model X 130'00; Model 3 65'000 CHF; Model Y we will see
Range: great
Chargetime: great
Power: more than great even on the cheaper models
Design: Love the Model X & S, Model 3 not so great
Warranty: great 8 years of Warranty for the battery
Yesterday the Model Y was reviled and it's looking a little bit smaller than the X but a lot better than the Model 3. Here I will carefully have an eye on it to see when the first will be delivered and how they will be looking once they get produced.
My problem here is Tesla is looking great, the feeling to drive one it's perfect, the price is too high, technology is great. Production for the Model Y will take so long, so right now it's not really an option for me. I will have an eye on it and see if the price will drop, maybe I can buy a used one and so on.
I will test drive a Model 3 to have a better idea if this would be an option for me.
Right now the best electric car that you can actually buy on the marked, but pretty pricey!
Next post will be the Hyundai Kona electric

Great Post!
I would probably wait a few more years, before I'd buy an electric car, since the technology is progressing so rapidly especally, if your car is still okay.
Thanks for the reply, great to hear that. My car is still drivable but here in Switzerland you have to do a check of the car every two years so i think mine will not pass the next examination without spending a lot of money to fix everything...
So this is the point, I will wait some time before buying one, but I will keep my eyes open.
At geneva motor show I already had a seat in the new audi e-tron looking amazing will share it later on, stay tuned and please give me a follow...
