[CARGUY TIME] Do You Know 'BYTON's Autonomous Electric Vehicle'?

Today's topic is 'Autonomous Electric Vehicle of BYTON.'
This car can be unlocked with only our faces.

Byton, a new China-based company founded by BMW and Infiniti, showed EV under development as SMART CAR of a next generation at '2018 CES(Consumer Electronics Show)' in Las Vegas.

Byton CEO said, "EVs in Byton are not yet able to reach Tesla's in terms of performance and price, but in the future people will be more interested in 'Digital Power' than in horse power of car."

"We hope to combine our life outside car with our experience in the car."

The core technology in Byton is 'Display.'
Its wide display takes most of the dashboard.
The color is white during the day, while it changes at the night for our eyes.
It can be controlled as touch, voice, and gesture etc.
The screen is called 'Digital Lounge.'

As driver sit on the seat, the inside camera recognize who you are, and
it adjusts position of seat or other driving conditions.
The front seats, including the driver's seat, can be switched their direction to look back seats.

In fact, the driving efficiency is not good.
It can run as 97km/h for 5 seconcds but, it is slower than Tesla's Model 3.

This model includes the necessary sensor for being realized 'Level 4 of Autonomous EV.'
Level 4 is the condition of driving by itself safely while driver sleeps.

Byton must solve the problem of 'Arranging fast charging station inflastructure.'
Byton said, "We want to share Tesla's charging stations.
However, Tesla has never responded.

In 2014, Tesla's CEO suggested, "If rival EV makers pay reasonable costs of shares, we would accept the suggestions of sharing charging stations."

It is not known whether Tesla will be shared with Byton.
Now, charging infrastructure for the supply of EVs remains the most urgent task than creating electric cars.
