Atelier Ares Design from Modena, led by former CEO Lotus Dany Bahar, is ready to revive the legendary Ferrari 250 GTO. A modern interpretation of the historical sports car will be released in the amount of ten pieces. The price of the "new" coupe, taking into account the purchase of the donor machine, will be about one million euros.

During the interview to the publication Robb Report Bahar demonstrated working sketches of the sports car - the finalization of the design of the two-door team of artists deals with the client who ordered the car. The original 250 GTO rightfully bears the title of the most expensive classic car: in the summer at an auction car in 1963 sold for 70 million dollars.

A donor for the revived 250 GTO can be the Ferrari F12 Berlinetta or the more recent 812 Superfast. In the latter case, under the hood of the sports car will be a 6.5-liter V12 engine, giving out 800 horsepower and 718 Nm of torque. The box is a seven-stage robot with two clutches.

For the car, I'll make a new body that imitates the original 250 GTO in detail. So, similarities will add three air intakes under the front edge of the bonnet, side gills, ventilation holes on the rear wings, the fuel filler neck next to the boot lid and stylized tail lights.

However, for Ares Design this project will not be a debut. In winter, the atelier presented a replica of the sports car De Tomaso Pantera of the seventies, built on the basis of the Lamborghini Huracan. At the same time during the presentation, Bahar showed images of another super car in retro style, the inspiration for which will be the grand tourers 365 GT4, 400 and 412, produced by Ferrari between 1972 and 1989.
