People who consume organic foods have significantly lower levels of dangerous pesticides in the body, scientists have found. The 2015 study in the US covers nearly 4,500 people and studies organophosphate intake from food.

The results of the study show that people who eat mainly bio foods have low levels of organophosphates in the urine. People with the highest levels of organophosphates in the urine usually consume more conventionally grown foods treated with synthetic chemicals.
"In most Americans, the main source of pesticides like organophosphates is nutrition," says Dr. Cynthia Curl, the lead author of the study. - The study shows that when we eat organically grown versions of foods that contain the greatest amount of pesticide residues, we can achieve a measurable difference in pesticide levels in the body. "
As foods with a high level of residual pesticides, scientists list conventionally grown fruits such as peaches, nectarines and apples.
