Aston Martin made a hypercar with a landing as in the car "Formula 1"
The British brand showed images of the pre-series version of the supercar "Valkyrie" (developed jointly with Red Bull)
Recall that the prototype hypercar "Valkyrie", which will be released in a limited edition, was shown a year ago. Since then, engineers Aston Martin and Red Bull have fought to improve the design and aerodynamic characteristics of the car. Today the company distributed a fresh portion of images and additional information about the hypercar. Judging by the pictures, the pre-series version of Valkyrie has undergone a number of changes.
The company does not hide that when creating the car, they drew inspiration from the design of Formula One cars. For example, it is already known that the driver's landing in the Valkyrie will be the same as in racing cars. In addition, future cars will take into account all the features of the structure of the body of its owner. For maximum comfort, Aston Martin intends to conduct a special 3D scan of the customer's body.
To improve the aerodynamic characteristics of the engine designers have revised a number of details of the exterior. For example, the cockpit of the hypercar has got a drop-shaped shape, at the level of the front bumper there are huge ventilation tunnels, the Valkyrie and traditional side mirrors are not available. They were replaced by cameras. As a result, as the creators claim, it was possible to significantly increase the clamping force of the hypercar.
A lot of attention was paid to the issue of reducing the weight of the car. Earlier it was already reported that the mass of "Valkyrie" will not exceed 1,030 kg. Decrease in the figure was achieved through the use of carbon fiber, as well as a number of other solutions. For example, the head lights of a supercar weigh 30-40% less than the optics of any other brand produced today by the car.
Do not ignore the developers and the famous emblem of the wings of the brand. Engineers are so "confused" that specifically for the "Valkyrie" was made a logo with a thickness of only 70 microns! For comparison, it is 30% thinner than a human hair and 99.4% lighter than a normal label.
The car will be equipped with a hybrid power plant, which will include a 6.5-liter atmospheric V12 with a yield of 1000 hp. And an electric motor that will add a hypercar to 130 more "horses". Also, "Valkyrie" will receive a system of energy recovery, similar to that used in the cars of Formula-1. The maximum speed of the Valkyrie is 402 km / h.
"Valkyrie" will be released in a limited series of 150 copies, 25 of which will be exclusively for driving on race tracks. Previously, the company said that most of the cars have already been sold. The first customers will receive hypercards in 2019.
