Mattsbeamers Intro for Steemit
Hello guys, and welcome to Mattsbeamer!
For those of you who are wondering what is ‘Mattsbeamer’, well, it is a small car youtube channel which I started back at the start of 2015. I am trying to branch out into the unknown world of blogging.
My name is Matthew, as you probably guessed by my YouTube channels name. I was born in England back in the mid 1980’s, in a little town called Uckfield, which is near a city called Brighton, down in East Sussex. I have always had an interest in cars, since I was a little boy. In fact, my mother told me I had an interest in cars since I was a baby, but obviously I won’t remember that. What I do remember thou is, my father bringing back his shark nosed BMW E23 735i, which was a beast of a car. I really admired this unique car. I spent so much time looking around it. I am very surprised it didn’t have a flat battery, as I was always playing about with it. The car was in a beautiful gold, fitted with a brown interior. I also loved the sound of this car. I love the way that the silky smooth 3.5 straight sixes sound, bounced off the local countryside walls.
As I grew up, my father had more BMW’s, and each time he bought a newer BMW, the more excited I got. I read about them in my spare time, after saving my weekly pocket money, I also used to read the instruction manuals, along with the workshop manuals. I also loved drawing cars, which has now turned into the digital variant. I have always dreamed about working with cars.
When I saved up enough money, I started looking at cars. My first car was a silver E30 318i, which was a year younger than me. I spent my savings fixing up this car, which was originally going to go to the scrapyard. The previous owner, who was a friend of my dad, let me have it for 250 pound (my Russian keyboard doesn’t have a GBP pound sign). I taught myself how to fix certain things, such as: replacing the steering rack, the brake pads and shoes, basic servicing, working on the heater matrix and other small DIY jobs.
As the years went by, I did a mechanics course at collage, and basically did your usual boring jobs, which weren’t car related.
Now, I live in Russia, in the beautiful capital ‘Moscow’. I really love it here, thou my Russian isn’t the best. Being in Russia is the reason I became interested in video making and YouTube. I wasn’t able to watch normal TV in Russia, as I could not understand what was being said. Instead of TV, I turned to the world of YouTube, and watched so many YouTube videos, which made me want to start my own.

I started off by making in depth tour videos, on cars I had possession of. The first video I made, was based on the rental car I had at the time, while I was in the country Cyprus. The car was a Nissan Tiida. It wasn’t the best video I made, but then again, I have improved a lot since then.
Apart from making in depth tours, I started making car DIY videos, based on my BMW 1 Series. My 1 series is a 2012 BMW 116i F20, which is a pretty simple car to work on. I think it’s the reason my channel started to grow a little faster. I also made some quick overview car videos, and I also make videos on questions I am asked. So if you have any car related questions, please let me know, by commenting down below.
Thank you and please enjoy your weekend.
