Why Captain Marvel Is Set In The 90s?

So before avengers 4 we will see Captain Marvel but the movie is not based on current time line it is based on 90's time line
The reason we will find out in this post , however , whatever the time line of movie be. Till the movie has connection with the main cinematic universe , there is nothing bothering the fans.For example we saw X men first class in 1960's , Captain America in world war 2 time line and Wonder Woman in world war 1 time line.Same Captain marvel is also going to tell its story in 1990's.

According to Kevin Feige , due to Captain marvel we going to discover a new time of marvel entertainment which we haven't seen yet.He told that all this is possible from the story telling of the movie which will help marvel studious in showing a new angle of MCU. This is going to be a fun angle. In the movie we will meet a Nick Fury who doesn't know anything about aliens and superhero .We will also see Kree skrul war which was big event in Marvel Comics.In this event only , we will see Carol Danvers becoming captain marvel.

Carol Danvers was introduced in comics in 1968 and after 1977 , she became a superhero . However , Carol Danver's origin story has introduced many times and every time it was in shown few years ago from the present day.Same thing is going to be shown in the movie , where carol Danvers (Captain Marvel) is going to start her superhero journey in 1990's. We have already seen many events of 1990's in marvel entertainment such as Tony stark new year party in iron man 3 , Bucky assassinating Howard Stark , Black panther's Flash back. All these were flashback but the whole movie of Captain Marvel is based on 1990's time-line.In this movie Nick Fury will have both of his eyes and seeing superhero willl not be a common thing.According to Kevin Feige, Captain Marvel is going to be a action movie of 90's style. We can see pop culture reference in this movie including the prequel of the star war and movies of disney such as Aladdin and the Lion King.We don't know much about the plot of the movie but we know that Carol Danvers is going to stuck between Kree skrul war along with Nick Fury , Phil Coulson(ALIVE!) and it is the kree-skrul war of 90's we can also see Ronan the Accuser with Korath . We will also see some new character in movie which are Marvel and Doctor Minerva.This movie is going to be released on 8th march 2019.
