Does Marijuana Kill Cancer? How cannabis kills cancer?
There are three types of marijuana: bang, ganja and sharas. Bang-get from dried and crushed leaves seeds and stems the easiest and cheapest drug. Ganja, obtained from the inflorescences of plants, is two or three times stronger than the bang. Sharas are pressed crystals of pollen, which are formed on the surface of the inflorescences of plants, in the Middle East, called hashish.
Marijuana is chemically composed of THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) - a more active, psychoactive component of cannabis and having a euphoric effect. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a less active component, a non-psychoactive component and has a sedative effect, an anticonvulsant.
All experiments that were performed with marijuana against cancer were carried out either in vitro or on a mouse, that is, the results cannot be transferred to the human body, since the structure of the mouse and the person is different. Yet the results of experiments should pay attention, in the course of studies have shown that THC and CBD:
- triggers the mechanism of apoptosis (a regulated process of programmable cell death, as a result of which the cell breaks down into separate apoptotic bodies confined to the plasma membrane.) When cancer develops in the human body, or more precisely at the cellular level, a breakdown of control over the growth and division of cells occurs, cancer cells uncontrollably divide and grow and at the same time programmed cell death stops. Components of marijuana THC and CBD trigger the mechanism of programmable cell death.
-stop division of tumor cells (THC and CBD have antiproliferative properties)
-antimetastatic mechanism (there is evidence that THC and CBD suppress the migration of tumor cells throughout the body)
-antiangiogenesis (this is a key moment because the tumor needs nutrition, and in order for this food to enter the tumor cell it is necessary that the blood vessels that feed this cell fit into this cell. This turns out that THC and CBD cover the way to feeding the tumor cells and thus it ceases to divide and grow.
To achieve these results, high doses of THC and CBD should be used. But there is just as accurate data about what dose and type of cannabis need to be used to fight cancer. From the negative points, you can see that the use of cannabis, suppresses immunity (the body ceases to deal with foreign objects). Similarly, cancer cells can develop resistance to cannabinoids and not respond to their effects and grow again. One of the main disadvantages of using marijuana for medicinal purposes is the development of mental, physical dependence. And as now you can hear that marijuana is an easy drug, but most drug addicts smoke the grass and switch to stronger drugs. But it can also be summed up that all the results obtained in the course of the experiment were made only in mice and in vitro and that until now there have been no positive results in humans. As we see marijuana, it is possible that it kills cancer cells and leads them to fight, but the consequences after long use are very different, and it is very good to think before starting such therapy.
