On Thursday this week, Alexis testified in front of the Colorado State Senate Health and Human Services Committee in support of SB19-013 to allow cannabis, an "agriculture based medicine," as an alternative to opiates. Alexis' broader challenge to lawmakers: Do cannabis patients have equal liberties and freedoms to every other patient? If yes, they should abolish the qualifying conditions list all together, leaving the decisions about cannabis use between patients and doctors, not politicians and prohibitionists.

Ms. Bortell has also been very vocal on Twitter regarding the hypocrisy at CBS for rejecting the medical cannabis ad but a CBD coffee ad being in plain view to fans at the game.
