I just got word about this from the Kokesh for President Chief Strategist, Ben Farmer and called the bondsman who has the legal records to confirm the details. MeLisa Barksdale is a cannabis activist in Texas who was arrested on April 1st for three charges: felony possession of "liquid marujuana," class A misdemeanor unlawful carry of a weapon, and class b misdemeanor possession of marijuana. She is currently being held in the Grimes County Jail and needs help raising funds to pay the bondsman, which will be no more than $1860. If you can help, please call or text her friend Melissa Pedroza at 903-393-9558 or Capps Bail Bonds at 936-873-9996.

MeLisa is an enthusiastic cannabis activist and you can see from her Facebook page how involved she is with the cause, including attending open carry cannabis marches. She joined the Libertarian Party recently to help our friend Kory Watkins in his campaign for Governor of Texas. She treats both mental and physical war injuries with cannabis.

When she was arrested, her car was also impounded and she will certainly have other costs dealing with that. She does not have her prosthetic leg with her and is refusing the psych meds they are trying to give her. Let's not let this victim of the War on Drug Users be abandoned or forgotten! Please call or text her friend Melissa at 903-393-9558 to help out today!

I can't think of anything more vile than the gov. going after cannabis activists, especially when they're also Vets recovering from PTSD and other war-related psychological conditions. That shit is inexcusable!

The fact that many Americans who served in the armed forces have problems in peaceful life, well, they experienced them before service. The average composition is mainly formed from losers. In a developed economic system, normal people have no problem finding a place in it.
For those veterans who really need help - suffered a severe wound, etc. - the American state provides very strong support. Although there are undoubtedly problems, they are being fought and solved.

Let her wallow in the police state she helped create. Every wo(man) is 100% responsible for their own actions. That means there is 0% left for "muh ptsd" or "muh paycheck" or "muh illness" and "muh orders" Feels like shit when the shit she pulled on others is pulled on her, no?

There's a BIG difference between creating, or being indoctrinated into a system of debt slavery, violence, misinformation etc...I could never wish upon anyone to have to endure state sponsored caging and attempted psychological games, and to me, is only perceived as a projection of inner anger to wish something known to be harmful upon someone else.

You mistake my lack of concern for someone who would, and probably did something similar to someone else, for me actually wishing ill on others. Because the truth is harsh, doesn't make the speaker of it a bad guy.

I believe you're misinterpreting violence for anger, and I insinuated that you had been angry, not violent. Their will never be any truth in punishment for a victimless "crime", and justice itself seems a fallacy when a complete consensus would never be able to 100% agree on policy.

The laws on Texas really are garbage which sucks because the people there are, generally, pretty nice.

I have always said that cannabis advocates need to learn how to market to cause to the right wing. If we shift the argument a bit, I don't think it would be that hard to turn some of the red states, like Texas green, (I actually wrote a little thing about that a few weeks ago).

I'm, sadly, a bit too short on cash to help this lady directly but I will see if I can have this resteemed through a bigger account than mine.

AK. Would you be good enough to host a debate between this guy and Patrick Smith, who is campaigning for Texas noGovernor as your clone, in a large sense. Texas has 50 or so counties with 5k or less population which might see a very positive reaction to your book, and the "Split 50!" strategy if Smith uses it as a campaign tool. Let the chickie help you moderate the debate to give her lots of free publicity for her cause.

There is no point of a debate. Patrick even knows that.

dang... now THAT is some Tall Texas confidence! LOL ...although I do wonder why you say that. I always considered a candidates' debate beneficial; especially between Libertarians. Not so much about ideology (which has been rehased to death since 1971), but what campaign strategy a candidate proposes to use to break through the duopoly stronghold. This is what makes AK's run so interesting. Innovative activity and prescription.

He meant there's no point in a debate because they agree on everything. It would be a boring debate! ;) LOL

I doubt they have the same campaign strategy... and ideas to grow the party while on the campaign trail. I mean, what are the LP-TX delegates going to do? Flip a coin to decide? Just from first impression, I see two distinctly different personalities... which will draw more of that personality to the fold.

Frankly, it seems nothing Kory gets involved in remains "boring" for too long! LOL

Ok. I have been spending the last 3 hours cruising through your stuff... especially the "Grounds" vids. Quite a resume you have compiled in a few short years. I KNOW how hard it is to accomplish, because I have been attempting to promote these "Liberty Districts -- USA" since 1989. It seems like you have hit upon the right formula. I mean, if you campaign for governor, solely on the aspect of building these communities in a variety of places around the state, it justifies the effort.

Now, I have a good means to make it really profitable, by tapping into those who might only want to come for a week or two. Imagine "porcFest" with time-share units, going on 51 weeks a year. [email protected] Anyone. Anytime. "Build it and they could come... Might not stay, but they should want to visit once a year."

It hurts my heart knowing that we having an organic (and almost entirely free) effective treatment for PTSD yet our legislators have decided that cannabis is on par with crack & heroin and that anyone who consumes this herb is a felon.

I don't want to bogart this feed but this is an issue I am extremely passionate about. If you feel compelled, check out my personal experience using cannabis to treat my PTSD & depression https://steemit.com/ptsd/@jaymattbro/my-thoughts-on-cannabis-for-ptsd

This is sad

So ready for this B.S. government lie "band-aid" to be ripped off us.

Long live healthy beings who are given acknowledgement for their divine currency.

Is there any kind of crowdfund set up for this? I'm happy to help, but can't foot the whole bill.

Speaking with Melissa Pedroza about it, there's not one set up just yet.

Thank you, Adam !
