RE: Cadillacs and Dinosaurs:Co-op Playthrough

Yeah that is true it is hard to hit an audience and grab them on different platforms. I am having same issue when trying to get more to my own youtube it is difficult to get people especially new ones on different platforms to go through youtube. Another issue I have with youtube is I think I may have many inactive subscribers I have posted over 2000 videos but the views don`t match the proportion of subs I have or even comes halfway.

Although I have had a few of my videos see spikes in views huge spikes I have a few that exceed 1000 while others just remain flat lined. Oooh and same here that sucks you guys cant find any revenue for what you do 7$? that is terrible. me last time I checked I have round 60$ not that it matters though because youtube will soon screw us all over with their recent change. That is one of the reasons why I now find myself over here. I was a partner with them since 2013 and just like that Ill be not partnered, which sucks not just because of revenue alone but seems the way their system works it favors videos with ads in search while those with none dont get as much priority so itll be a bit harder for my stuff to even be found..But I`ll keep going though the minute I give up is the minute true failure kicks in reaching 1000 subs was a goal of mine anyways. I hope you guys can find stable ground again atleast here all the while your youtube continues growth do not give up! For everything even a niche there is an audience.

Sort:

A smart move we both made trying out alternative platforms like DTube and Steemit! One of Gamers Bay's mods from G+ came over here with me. His channel lost its monetization as well.

But the ads didn't pay anything anyways. It was a false hope to begin with, and we all need to get creative to find news ways to thrive.

yeah smart move indeed it is always good idea to have multiple options. And even though I am on here I am still keeping my eyes peeled for other potential platforms. I hear Twitch responded to youtubes recent change you can get ads and partnership from them with a minimum of 50 followers. Not only that but they allow pre-recorded videos there now too.

And yeah the ads payed so little it took me years to get the 60$ I did from youtube and I had ads on all. You are right though we all need to find new ways to thrive and there are plenty of ways see good thing about the internet is one can be so flexible and creative or find different ways to do things. As far as steemit and dtube go for me for the time being before I jump into anything else on this site I wanna move what i had on youtube over to hear to possibly reach a new audience not only that but to also serve as a backup place for the vids that I did over the years just in case something happens to my youtube I have absolutely no backups of any of my vids I would be devastated if something happened to them. I spent hours upon hours of time doing them.

Word of caution, I wouldn't reupload your youtube videos here or anywhere else. Google issued a warning to publishers early last year about duplicate content. If they find the same thing posted multiple times across the web, their algorithms will demote your rank across all their products and services.

This is why so many of those mega channels on youtube get a boat load of traffic from the suggested video feeds, but no traffic from youtube search and Google search engines.

Better idea: Syndicate your videos here in blog posts on Steemit using embed code from your videos, add additional pictures, and a unique description that differs from your youtube ones.

Now you have unique content again, and the blog posts here can rank in Google search!

This is the whole reason I'm not re-uploading any of Gamers Bay's videos here, and instead syndicating them in blog posts.

All the videos I did on DTube so far are unique only to DTube.

Ah even the very large channels are affected by this eh? I had no idea hmm now that you bring this up I need to when I get the chance to later on take a look in my own traffic sources and see where they mainly come from as of now.
