Cableway Mukumbarí
The new Cable Car System of Mérida, is considered the highest and longest roving system in the world, it aims to become the most modern tourist infrastructure in the world; whose transformation is due to more than 300 heroes who work in minimum temperatures in the Andean peaks under ecological visions.
Mukumbarí means in indigenous voice "place where the sun sleeps". This denomination was given by the first inhabitants to what is now known as the imposing Sierra Nevada.
The new Mérida Cable Car System - Mukumbarí, is a luxury elevator that gives access to the most beautiful Venezuelan mountains. Unique landscape in the world, since it has six ecological units ranging from 1,577 meters above sea level (msnm) to 4,765 meters above sea level in a route of 12.5 kilometers
Rated as the most modern on the planet, this infrastructure works has five stations: Barinitas (1,577 masl), La Montaña (2,436 masl), La Aguada (3,452 masl), Loma Redonda (4,045 masl) and Pico Espejo (4,765 masl), connected by four sections that have the latest technology, making it also the safest and most reliable cable car.
