Lucha contra la sequía
Saludos amigos de steemit, hoy les quiero compartir esta iniciativa en la lucha contra la sequia, que afecta a nivel mundial con el cambio climatico.
Un grupo de cientificos dirigidos por la investigadora Raquel Chan , perteneciente al CONICET, han desarrollado una semilla HB4 de soya y trigo que son resistentes a la sequia y posee un rendimiento mayor.
Esto toma iniciativa al ser concientes del esenario en el que nuestra poblacion aumentara 9 mil millones de personas para 2050, y la constante perdida de alimentos por las sequias, la investigadora junto a su equipo tuvo como objetivo estudiar como se adaptaban las plantas a su medio ambiente, llevandola a superar las barreras del laboratorio.
El gen HB4, mejora la resistencia a situaciones de estres a las que se someta la planta, esto no quiere decir que sobreviva totalmente sin agua, sino que es capas de soportar periodos mas amplios con una cantidad reducida de agua sin afectar su ciclo de vida ni su rendimiento productivo.
Este tipo de estudiso se basa en aislar cada gen e ingresarlo en una planta que no lo posea y estudiar la dferencia que se presente ante la planta original sin el gen.
