Climate Change - When The Trees Come Down

Everyone in Nigeria and generally in the World can agree on one thing, that climate change is a factor that is rapidly becoming an alarming issue with no feasible solution yet. While I want to call attention to this, I want people to be vividly aware that God put us in this planet for a reason, and that is to tend to it and make it a better place to live in.
Do not say to yourself, my personal hygiene and conscious effort to avoid activities deteriorating the Earth will not make much difference. Matters are getting worse and its all to our contributed negligence concerning these matters. People burning in open air the trash not properly disposed, industries that leak chemical waste into the atmosphere, improper disposure of chemical wastes from factories, all of these contribute to these vividly altering climate change.

The trunk of a tree destroyed from violent winds during heavy rainfall

Never before have I seen trees fall in Nigeria, much less my school (University of Benin, Nigeria) due to never before seen violent winds and rainfall, but these days they fall like people in a Benny Hinn crusade when he waves his hand. This is a problem and this has affected the infrastructure in school as some trees fell on things like wires and blocked roads leading to places in school.
We cannot fight nature, this is not the school's fault, we can only treat the Earth better and allow the Earth heal itself and restore normal climate and weather. I thank God for advances in nuclear science as there are measures of progress in nuclear fusion which will guarantee another clean source of energy.
Also solar power has lessened the need for generators which expel toxic smoke (even lead) into the air contaminating the environment. But we also have our part to play.

GIVE IT SOME THOUGHT

THIS GOT MY ATTENTION

A sunken car due to erosion of barely motorable road
Now I can partly blame the government for negligence on its part, but the road has also been washed by erosion and has become barely motorable coupled with the heavy rainfalls that has been prevailing more frequently than usual.
Poor driver in a fix, I would not want to be in his shoes, hopefully he'd be out soon.

Till next time, I remain your ever able violed25th.

Sort:

I never knew the power of wind could fall a tree till it did so right before me months ago I was in deep shock but its been normal for me ever since

As in, it shocked me bad, was so surprised when I started seeing falling trees, uproted trees all around

😁😁 its normal for people down here.

our unsustainable use of our natural resources is taking a toll on our environment. We need to awake!

trees are meant to help regulate the temperature of the earth my consuming the ozone depleting agent like carbon mono oxide.

But when these yes are cut down then the earth is exposed to heat

Great Post.
Really an eye opener for everyone.
Tree plantation should be encouraged and those who are cutting trees should be in prison.
And yeah, the conditions of roads in most developing and under-developed countries of the world needs utmost attention by the local government bodies. Afterall, Roads are showing the true face of the development of one's own country.
