Bitcoin First Lighting Network Node In Nigeria

in #busy5 years ago

The history finally made within BNUG (Blockchain Nigeria User Group) as the Founder Chimeze Chuta set up the first Bitcoin Lightning Network node. Early this month during Tezos Africa meetup in Lagos, Chuta mentioned his hard time on the setting up of the node and the amount of data wasted with no positive outcome, but now we have the product running after synching 345GiG of the entire bitcoin blockchain running off Raspberry Pi 4. What a great success for Chuta, BNUG, and the entire Crypto in Africa.

From his discussion on telegram, the starting of a project do opens room for innovations. He claimed that what he encountered on the project worth documenting. He planned the idea of setting up an LND payment channel, after a close look at the energy problem in Nigeria he came with an introduction of solar power kit with an inverter system to ensure power supply at every time (t) not to affect the lighting network from production.

He drawn out the real meat of the project which was tagged towards the custom build of an authentic power change over switch that is made up of power contactors, panel/bare board (Programmable Arduino Nano-Micro Processor). There are a few lines of code using Arduino IDE which is uploaded through a USB port, this is what Chuta enjoyed and made a confirmatory declaration to say, it was really fun all the way.

Are You Asking How Much It Cost? Well the product is out and serving the purpose of its set up. Free to have a moment with the Founder.

Chimezie Chuta is an IT Pro, Drupal Dev, Coordinator of Blockchain Nigeria User Group, Blockchaindev1000, and KinesisMoney Advisory for West Africa. He's also skilled in UAV, 3D Printing + Blockchain & Tokenomics.
