History of the Sword
With the proliferation of steel armor, which is extremely difficult to cut, in practice it is almost impossible, slashing blows began to be used less and less.
But the piercing blow retained its relevance for articulations of armor and other weak points of protective weapons. The sword became narrower and thinner, turning from a chopping-stabbing into a piercing-chopping.
The first swords appeared in Spain in the 1460s (at the time of Gothic armor), representing a sword equipped with a complex guarda
