The Aksi Cepat Tanggap (ACT) humanitarian agency, again collected 1000 tons of rice for humanitarian aid to be distributed to conflict victims in the Goutha region of Syria.

From the target of 1000 tons of rice to be distributed, 350 tons of rice will be collected from 5,000 farmers in Aceh spread over nine districts.

"One of them is in Aceh Besar area. Incidentally in Aceh Besar District, some of its territory has entered the harvest. We collect the grain from these farmers by buying at market prices, but based on the intention to help others, "said Imam Abari, Senior Vice President of ACT Center to waratwan, Monday (12/3/2018).

According to Imam, from the target of rice aid, 100 tons of rice will be collected from several regions in Indonesia, and then will be delivered directly by humanitarian ship which is scheduled to sail in April 2018.

"We will distribute it to the fourth humanitarian vessel we are deploying to some conflict areas, and previously it has been paid by Palestinians, Somalis and Myanmar, in this case helping spiritual refugees, even before Aceh also helped the rice for Rohingya refugees," said Imam.
A number of rice fields in Gampong Lampuuk, Kuta Baro Sub-district, Aceh Besar, now have entered the harvest period. A number of farmers claimed to voluntarily set aside rice harvested for sale to ACT as aid to war victims in Goutha.

"Actually we do not sell these paddy, because the pads are used for family consumption, but if to help our neighbor, we are willing to sell some of them. Moreover, as an Acehnese we really know how ill live in the conditions of crisis and war, because it has never experienced it, "said Samsul, farmer Gampong Lampuuk.
