Happy Ganesh Chaturthi to my all Steemit Friends/Followers Jai Ganpati Bappa-Morrya. Today my post is what is behind story of Ganesh-Chaturthi.
According to Book Shiv-Puran, it is described that once Mother Parvati produced a child from her scum before bathing and made her the gatekeeper. When Shivaji wanted to enter, the child stopped him. On this Shiva made a fierce battle against the boy, but no one could defeat him in the battle.
Lord Shankar got angry and cut off the head of that child with his trident. By this Bhagwati Parvati became enraged and they resolved to execute. Fearless gods praised Jagadamba on the advice of Devrishi Narad and calmed them. At Shivaji's direction, Vishnuji brought the head of the jiva (elephant) first in the north direction and brought it. Due to his death, he got the head of the jug on the ladder and restored it. Mother Parvati took that child-ganesha from her heart with her heart and blessed her to be a leader in the gods.
Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh gave the blessing to be worshiped by declaring that child as the head of all. Lord Shankar said to the boy-Girijanandan! Your name will be paramount in destroying the obstacle. Become a worshiper of all and become the president of all my groups. Ganeshwar!
Your birth arisen on the fourth moon of the Lord of the lunar month of Bhadrapad. At this date all the obstacles of the fasting will be destroyed and he will get all the accomplishments. In the night of Chaturthi, Ganesha worshiped Vaishi Chandrama at the time of Chandrodaya and gave darshan to Brahmins. After that you also have sweet food yourself. For the year, the desire of the fasting of Shri Ganesh Chaturthi is absolutely complete!

शिवपुराण के अनुसार यह वर्णन है कि एक बार माता पार्वती ने स्नान करने से पूर्व अपनी मैल से एक बालक को उत्पन्न करके उसे अपना द्वारपाल बना दिया। शिवजी ने जब प्रवेश करना चाहा तब बालक ने उन्हें रोक दिया। इस पर शिवगणों ने बालक से भयंकर युद्ध किया परंतु संग्राम में उसे कोई पराजित नहीं कर सका।
भगवान शंकर ने क्रोधित होकर अपने त्रिशूल से उस बालक का सर काट दिया। इससे भगवती पार्वती क्रुद्ध हो उठीं और उन्होंने प्रलय करने की ठान ली। भयभीत देवताओं ने देवर्षि नारद की सलाह पर जगदम्बा की स्तुति करके उन्हें शांत किया। शिवजी के निर्देश पर विष्णुजी उत्तर दिशा में सबसे पहले मिले जीव (हाथी) का सिर काटकर ले आए। मृत्युंजय रुद्र ने गज के उस मस्तक को बालक के धड पर रखकर उसे पुनर्जीवित कर दिया। माता पार्वती ने ममता से उस गजमुखबालक को अपने हृदय से लगा लिया और देवताओं में अग्रणी होने का आशीर्वाद दिया।
ब्रह्मा, विष्णु, महेश ने उस बालक को सर्वाध्यक्ष घोषित करके पूज्य होने का वरदान दिया। भगवान शंकर ने बालक से कहा-गिरिजानन्दन! विघ्न नाश करने में तेरा नाम सर्वोपरि होगा।तू सबका पूज्य बनकर मेरे समस्त गणों का अध्यक्ष हो जा। गणेश्वर!
तू भाद्रपद मास के कृष्णपक्ष की चतुर्थी को चंद्रमा के उदित होने पर उत्पन्न हुआ है। इस तिथि में व्रत करने वाले के सभी विघ्नों का नाश हो जाएगा और उसे सब सिद्धियां प्राप्त होंगी। कृष्णपक्ष की चतुर्थी की रात्रि में चंद्रोदय के समय गणेश तुम्हारी पूजा करने के पश्चात् व्रती चंद्रमा को अर्घ्यदेकर ब्राह्मण को मिष्ठान खिलाए। तदोपरांत स्वयं भी मीठा भोजन करे। वर्षपर्यन्त श्री गणेश चतुर्थी का व्रत करने वाले की मनोकामना अवश्य पूर्ण होती है !
