I'm quite glad I made the commitment to study from 9am to 5pm. I'm near done understanding all things AJAX and JSON all things theroy. In practise, that'll take time. I see @toresto has messaged me in regards to the cleaning trending. I'll message soon.

Sir, with all due respect, I think that you should look into @toresto before downvoting him. He is a creator of great original content. He is also a person who reinforces engagement on this platform. I am relatively new here, so I assume everybody to be a great person until I get to know otherwise. It is the same thing for you. After going over your place just rather quickly, it seems that you want to make steemit a better place also. And for that I say thank you so much! I am hoping that with everybody working together we can accomplish this. However, I consider downvotes a very serious thing. Had you warned him or had any conversations about how he was doing things incorrectly in your eyes? Or did you go for an instant full punishment of the down vote? Did you even take time to comment to him and explain to him why you were downvoting him? Did you take time to look at his account and notice he's only been here since March? Did you take time to go through his blog and investigate the type of content that he is creating? Did you take time to go through his comments and see that he is Thoroughly engaging his community? Did you take time to think about the fact that since he's only been here since March, he still considered a newbie? (Just because he's trying to do something ,already, to make steemit a better place doesn't mean he's a seasoned professional.) As I said, I looked through your blog. I noticed you've been here for a couple of years. How was your first month or so here? Were you attacked without explanation? Or without someone even taking the time to explain what you had done wrong?(even if it was only considered wrong in their eyes.)
I downflag people to. But before I do it, I take time to go through all the things that I asked you if you had went through above.
Then, and only then, if I decide to down flag I leave a very compassionate explanation of how they can improve themselves and prevent being down flagged in the future.
Why? Several reasons actually.

  1. The person may not know they have done wrong.
  2. It may be the first time that they have messed up.(No one deserves full punishment for a first offense.)
  3. I want for each person not only to know they've done wrong but what they've done wrong so they can improve.
  4. By commenting on why I down flag, I give that person and me the ability to have a conversation about it.
  5. I want every person here to succeed.
I spend a lot of my time trying to help our newest friends here in our community.

DID YOU READ THAT?

I SPEND TIME ON IT.

I consider it my one contribution to our community that I'm good at. So I spend time on it!
I would suggest that if you're wanting to help clean our community up that you invest some time into looking into the people you may be preparing to downvote. Then maybe, instead of a Down vote right away, you could talk to them first. Spend a little time getting to know the guy or girl. Take a look at their blog, maybe they have a lot of good stuff there and you just happened to stumble onto the one thing that you thought was inappropriate. And in any case no situation ever gets any better without people talking. I truly do hope that you have a great day. And I do wish you the best of luck with helping to clean the community. My only request is, that you be more compassionate and more thorough in your endeavors. All of my love to you and all of yours. And may our creator bless yous.
