I love crypto-currencies in concept; the idea of taking power away from the money makers... The thing is, those people have so much experience manipulating markets that the makers of these cryptocurrencies did not know how to build in defenses from attacks they could not conceive.
I love the idea of steemit, a decentralized social networking that uses the crypto-backing instead of the spy and sell technique of the big guys...
As noted these things are in the infancy stages and still with very low adoption rates, and even poorer retention.
These systems were not built to deal with the most practised at being corrupt and gaming systems, which unfortunately will likely mean that it will be steemit 3.0 by the time these things are properly stabilized and protected from manipulations.
