Springwood Growers Market
Springwood Growers Market is held on the last Sunday of every month at the Blue Mountains Theatre & Community Hub at Springwood.
We accidentally saw it on last month when we went to The Bunker for breakfast but we were on our way back to the car, saw the crowd and didn't want to brave it.
Since then I found the event on Facebook and decided to save it just in case we were up early enough to make it considering it starts at 8:30am and goes until 12:30pm.
Weekends is Hubby's only rest days so I like to let him sleep in as long as he wants and then figure out if we want to leave the house.
As it was we got there at around 10:30am and by then so many of the vegan options we're gone 😪 Especially from the Taiwanese stall. No more Dahl either 😪
We wondered around a bit deciding to see what was there, or rather what was left and saw a few choice stalls like Boho Wicks.
Handmade and painted chocolates and pastries.
I totally vouch for the sugar puffs. They tasted like croissants with pear glaze on top. Seriously good, should have bought 2.
The Salted Caramel & Peanut Dome unfortunately was way too rich for me and I still haven't finished it.
They also had stall selling pure local honey ~ which I should have bought to go with my ginger teas ~ but forgot all about it! 🤦🏻♀️
And there was a salami stall with Wild Boar and Kangaroo Salami!!! 😱
And then there was Andy's Yum Cha 🤤
I'm pretty sure Hubby has sympathy cravings cos he's been wanting yum cha for weeks now.
Someone up there is definitely looking after us cos seriously? We weren't expecting a yum cha stall, yet there it was and OHMAHGAD 🤤👌
We did two rounds.
The first round I got myself a pork bun. Best damn pork bun I have had in ages. So damn good I regretted not buying more for later, at least 3 more for later!!
Hubby got prawn dumplings with spring rolls. Pretty standard but he loved it.
The second round we both got 2 pork & vegetable dim sim and 2 duck dumplings with spring rolls.
I don't know if you can tell by the pictures but these were generous dim sim & dumpling servings, seriously huge. Like we had a dumpling and a dim sim each, looked at each other and called it a day.
Overall we really enjoyed the market and we will definitely be back. If anything just to buy more pork buns.
Ohh and honey. I need some of that local honey in my pantry.
If you're in the area I suggest stopping by and giving the market a go. There was a lot more stalls than I covered, and so many goodies to eat and buy. And nothing beats handmade from local producers.
Pau is my kids favourite as well, I really should find more local places that gave good ones here 😆 (I know one good place that’s easy but it’s at the bus depot in the city 😖) yay for finding yum cha randomly!
