Cooks whip up Russia's largest fried egg meal
Cooks fried an enormous number of eggs at the 6th interregional festival of Russian traditional culture, titled “Fomina Yaishnya” (Eggs for Thomas), trying to create Russia's largest fried egg meal.
This year’s festival was held in Novy Oskol of Belgorod Region on May 5. The festival celebrates the Christian feast week starting from Low Sunday, the first Sunday after Easter.
The name of the festival refers to Doubting Thomas, or Thomas the Apostle, one of the Twelve Apostles of Jesus, according to the New Testament.
