She obtained her qualifications from the Irish Institute of Chartered Accountants while working, becoming a qualified chartered accountant in 2003. She declined a partnership opportunity from Lowry & Associates in order to pursue business opportunities in Asia after obtaining invaluable expertise there. After moving back to Malaysia, she worked for a Malaysian consulting company as the Finance and Administrative Manager before joining a frozen food firm in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, as the Chief Financial Officer.
To provide corporate services to overseas investors in Vietnam, Betty created Finex in 2006. She skillfully handled the intricacies of the regional market in the ensuing years, solidifying Finex's position as a reliable ally for global corporations. Under her direction, the company greatly increased the scope of its services and won praise for them. Betty joined the company as a partner after Acclime Group, a regional corporate services provider, acquired Finex in 2020.
