We 22,000 sacco organisations in Kenya
Today i learned that Kenya has over 22,000 sacco organisations that have a combined 1.4 million members. This got me super intrigued because i used to develop software for businesses in finance sector but gave up because i found a more lucrative business in developing point of sale software for retail businesses and hotels.
If you're to factor in annual revenue you would get if you established yourself as a system provider (software only) to let's say 10% of this Saccos you would end up with $22 million or more! And given that most still use paper to record most data makes this a very ripe market to explore.
I'm considering starting to provide these services after this revelation.What do you think?
