SC S25W2: Drawing Shonen Anime

Greetings

Goku is one of major protagonist of most famous anime series which are Dragon Ball and the series are created by Akira Toriyama.Dragon ball series consist of different arcs and sequels in which some are below;

√ Dragon Ball are real anime series.
√ Dragon Ball Z are well known because of their epic battles and deepest storylines.
√ Dragon Ball Super is extension or a bit more continuity of Dragon Ball Z storyline.

Well character I am drawing today is Goku which is famous because of their super natural powers and strength, martial skills as well as iconic transformations such as Super Saiyan.

Let's have a look at step by step Goku drawing tutorial!

Required materials

• A blank paper.
• Graphite pencil.
• Eraser.
• Pencil sharpener.

I take a blank paper and start sketching or drawing by making a good proportion of face of Goku where you can see that I started drawing head a face of anime character which was round from head and longitudinal in overall look.I draw ears of anime character that were pointing at both sides.Then I extended neck of Goku (Anime character)in downward direction from bottom of ears of anime and then draw area under neck.

I started drawing body of anime character Goku that was not less than a body builder in look as I have discussed already that Goku was a symbol of power and incredible strength in Dragon ball series so I drag the lines in downward direction and in form of slope showing that shoulders are extending downward.Then I draw good bulk of muscles of arms and forearms so this step was all about drawing body.

In this step I started drawing facial features of Goku where first I differentiated part of head and forehead by drawing sharp corners of eyes and at forehead I draw two sharp lines showing attitude of anime character Goku.After drawing eyes I drawn nose and lips of anime character which were not well defined as normally it's a characteristic of anime.At top of head I also draw some unique shapes pointing downward adding in beauty of Goku.

In this step I started to define shape of each muscle of arm and forearm including biceps, triceps, deltoid and many more and enclosed each muscle in a different shape with bit curved lining.After that I give a dark or jet black colour to costume of anime character.Below neck again I defined chest muscles by drawing a mid line of chest and shading it smoothly.In ears I give bit dark shade in most inner part and add very light shade in outmost ear structure.

It was a final step to add appropriate shades where I add very light shade forehead and dark shade at boundaries of head showing a sharp and thick hairline.In muscles I defined muscle foldings by adding dark shades which were giving a good gradient while mixing with light shades.So that was final creative look of my drawing.
