In an interview with Bitcoin Magazine this week, Zach Shapiro, policy director at the Bitcoin Policy Institute (BPI), mentioned the impact that a hypothetical purchase of 1 million Bitcoin (BTC) by the US government would have on the cryptocurrency market. Shapiro said, "If the US were to announce that it was buying 1 million Bitcoin, it would be a global seismic shift, and Bitcoin prices would skyrocket, potentially reaching $1 million per BTC quickly." However, it is still unclear whether the price will actually rise to this level, but it is an interesting hypothesis.
