Coastal System Forms Late With Minor Fringe Effects

Good morning everyone. We have another beautiful day unfolding today with sunny skies and light winds. Our next system arrives tomorrow, with a coastal low wrapping up fairly tight, but well offshore as it exits the picture quickly. March is coming in like a lion activity-wise, but we have a few bright spots in between , notably Sunday and Monday.

Sun continues to dominate today, and the winds have dialed back considerably. Expect sunshine all day, dry conditions, and highs in the low 50's.

Clouds will increase overnight and into tomorrow will all of that moisture in the Southeast heading up our way. High pressure will stick around long enough to suppress most of the action to our south, but low pressure will develop as everything scoots offshore.

As a result, we'll see cloudy skies, some afternoon showers possible, and a raw day overall in the 40's with onshore winds developing. Overnight, that compact low pressure wraps up pretty tight and tries to throw back some moisture. That'll give us another chance of a few scattered showers, and again, maybe a few flakes mixed in as everything comes to an end while temps drop into the 30's.

Hurricane or near hurricane force gusts will be experienced well offshore of Cape Cod, but any concerns will be relegated to shipping and international flight routes.

On Saturday, we clear out but chilly and gusty conditions hang around. Expect highs only in the low 40's, but it won't last long as milder air resumes for Sunday.

Sunday will be a perfect, early March day, with sunshine, light winds, and highs in the mid 50's.

Monday continues to look like the mildest of the bunch, and we could go 60-65 depending on how much sunshine we get until clouds increase with Tuesday's system. 55-60 degree temps are still possible Tuesday as long as the rain holds off long enough.

Overall, we are in an active pattern as fairly vigorous systems trek across the Country, but we'll also have some nice gems mixed in here and there. We also have no March snowstorms in the forecast, and it looks like we are gently heading towards spring (as gentle as March could be)

MANY THANKS TO TROPICAL TIDBITS FOR THE USE OF MAPS
