Techniques of breastfeeding :Positioning and attachment

Breastfeeding technique has got much importance which we people usually neglect.It is the most important thing should be taken care of for proper feeding.
For proper technique correct position and good attachment is important.

What is the correct position?
•Mother should be in comfortable position
•Head,neck and body should be straight
•Baby's shoulder on the elbow of the mother
•Baby should face mother's breast
•Baby's abdomen should touch mother's abdomen
•Mother's one hand on baby's buttock and other one free

What is good attachment?

•Motuh of the baby should be wide open
•Most of the areola will be inside the mouth,only upper areola is visible not the lower one.
•Nose should be placed away from the breast
•Chin touches the breast
•Baby's lower lip is everted
•Feed with slow and deep suck.No pain should be felt by mother.
