Happy Easter ✝️ !............. NW Cascade Wanderings
Happy Easter! He is risen!!
We got up super early to attend the first of three services at our church this morning. The first one was at 8 AM, and when we got there 20 minutes early, the parking lot was moderately full. Parking is at a premium at our church-there’s just not enough!
Upon entering, we found our usual seats and began visiting with fellow church members. The first picture is the sanctuary looking towards the stage.
The worship was awesome and energizing; the sermon awesome as well. In the time we’ve been attending, I’ve yet to have a sermon put me to sleep!
After it was over, we headed back home for a little bit to do a couple things but then headed down to Boulevard Park. As luck would have it, the weather was extremely unstable. What started out as a windy and cold home turned into pelting rain and wind, with no bumbershoot in sight! 🙀☔️ Fortunately, it was blowing from the south and we at that point were headed north back towards the Woods Coffee Shop. I don’t care for their hot coffees, so we headed to a Starbucks in the northern outskirts of Bellingham.
Once we’d enjoyed our coffee, we were going to go walk the mall because of the rain, only to discover they were closed! I was surprised but glad for the workers. Next stop: Home Depot to look at the garden area and to get a bag of cow manure for my garden.
I found the manure and a few plants to purchase. What I didn’t find were any marigolds or oriental poppies. So we were going to Lowe’s to shop their garden center, only to find they too, were closed. Next stop: Walmart. I figured they might would have one or the other, and they did including some clearance perennials as well, so it was worth the stop. While there, I ran into the Easter Bunny!
I used to work at this store and still know quite a few people there, Michelle being one of them. She graciously posed for me!
Then it was time to go home. We both needed a few more steps, so I grabbed $7 and we set out. On the way back, we stopped at the farm stand @silvertop showed in yesterday’s post, and got some fresh, organic eggs. 🥚 I am kind of picky about how my eggs need to taste, so this is a trial run. If they’re tasty to me, I’ll gladly pay a little more for them, plus I don’t have to get in the car to get more! Nice! 😎👍
Well, that’s gonna be it for today. It’s been a lovely Easter, for which I’m exceedingly grateful for the gift of Jesus! Have a blessed week ahead and enjoy the rest of your day wherever you are! 🙏🌎🙏

NKJV Luke 24:1-12
Now on the first day of the week, very early in the morning, they, and certain other women with them, came to the tomb bringing the spices which they had prepared. But they found the stone rolled away from the tomb. Then they went in and did not find the body of the Lord Jesus. And it happened, as they were greatly perplexed about this, that behold, two men stood by them in shining garments. Then, as they were afraid and bowed their faces to the earth, they said to them, “Why do you seek the living among the dead? He is not here, but is risen! Remember how He spoke to you when He was still in Galilee, saying, ‘The Son of Man must be delivered into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.’ ”
And they remembered His words. Then they returned from the tomb and told all these things to the eleven and to all the rest. It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them, who told these things to the apostles. And their words seemed to them like idle tales, and they did not believe them. But Peter arose and ran to the tomb; and stooping down, he saw the linen cloths lying by themselves; and he departed, marveling to himself at what had happened.
