Ender’s Game by Orson Scott Card

Introduction

First of all, i will share the way i got introduced to this book. I talk with a person and they told me their favorite activity are reading. I am also a reading maniac. So, of course knowing that makes me excited. I asked about his favorite genre and he told me its biography. I was taken aback because its not what I expected at all. Then i asked about his next favorite genre, he told me that its science fiction. My lord, never i ever imagined that answer came from someone. Its two genre i didnt like. Its not that i hate them but its more like its hard for me to love them. I live for the challenge especially when its about reading. I want to challenge myself to read a book from those genre. I asked him again for a recommendation and he recommended me this book, Ender’s game by Ordon Scott Card.

Reading Experience

I can only find the audiobook from this book through Scribd. Its quite a pity because i think i can finish them faster if i read them through my eyes, and not through my ears. Even though i already made the speed to 1.8x its still not enough. Let alone the genre is something i didnt like. I need to stop a lot because i need to take my time to read them again. I really dont like it. I started reading in the beginning of March and just able to finished them now. Its something crazy for me because i am the type of person that like to finish the book as fast as i can.

My Thoughts About Ender’s Game

One thing, i don’t understand. I dont like it. The review is all good so i was really excited when reading them. But when i read them, i kept cringing. Grooming kids to be soldiers? Its something i will be able to like. That alone erase all of the good points i have to this book. I dont like how the kids gathered, told that they’re the future leaders that will fight the buggers, and played the war games. I honestly doesnt know what else to say about this review other than that. I always dislike books or movies about exploited kids. I finished the book with all the difficulties.
