Continue reading books. Sir Terence David John Pratchett
Hello everyone!
Today, continuing the topic of reading books, I want to tell you about the book "Guard! Guard!" by Terry Pratchett.
I'll start with the fact that his full name is "Sir Terence David John Pratchett", which in itself sounds impressive.
The total circulation of his books is 80 million copies - you must agree, this is a more than impressive figure. It's hard to even imagine.
Last year, in winter, I looked at the list of "100 best books according to the BBC" and there I found the audio version of the novel "Mort", with which I began my acquaintance with this author.
Interestingly, Terry Pratchett finished the work in 1987, that is, I was 2 years old then. And I read (or rather listened to) this work 37 years later.
There are also 14 more books by Terry Pratchett on the BBC's Top 100 list. This list was compiled based on a survey of 1 million participants. Which sounds quite interesting.
So, what are my impressions of the novel? A very fascinating novel. So much so that I wanted to listen to more of Pratchett's works. Having paid for a subscription to a special application full of audio books, I discovered that there is another novel by the author on the BBC list. I haven't gotten to the other 13 yet.
I also chose the voice acting, the narrator, which I am simply delighted with.
So I listened to the work with great interest. I want to note the author's style, as well as the scale of the idea, which has its own depth. Because it looks at the topic of death - from a slightly less dramatic angle.
Thank you all for your attention!
