WORKING WITH GOD'S SPECIFIED TIME
“WHEN JOSHUA WAS AN OLD MAN, the LORD said to him," You are growing old, AND MUCH LAND REMAINS TO BE CONQUERED.”
Joshua 13: 1 (NLT)
• Joshua was an old man, and he had not yet finished his assignment
- Timing in the God-given assignment is of paramount importance. The assignment given to you by God has a time limit, a time stipulated by Him, for you to accomplish or fulfil It.
- When you are called, assigned, for a purpose, there is a time limit for it. God had scheduled time limit for every assignment given. Your life is precious, you cannot afford to live without the consciousness of time. Although, God does not live in the realm of time, but humans do (Psalm 90:4; 2 Peter 3:8). Humans are Time Beings!
- Every child of God has an assignment given to him or her in God's overall purpose and programme for His Kingdom on planet earth (Romans 12:4,5; Ephesians 4:16).
- You have to discover God's purpose for your life, what He wanted you to do. You are not saved to be idle, there is a purpose why you are saved—purpose of salvation (Ephesians 2:10). Thus, you have to discover the purpose of God for your life.
• Joshua discovered purpose; he was to lead the Israelites to conquer the promise land—their land of inheritance (Deuteronomy 31:7,8).
- Many discovered God's purpose for their lives but never fulfilled it. Joshua became old, yet he had not finished his assignment.
- Urgency is required in the assignment given to you. Humans are time being, there is a time limit for our being on planet earth.
- If you did not want age to limit you, stop you, from accomplishing God's purpose; you have to start early. If you have discovered purpose, pursue it with all of your heart. There is no time to waste!
- Thus, do not trade your future. Whatever is not part of your assignment, you should stop wasting your time on it.
- Endeavour to discover the right thing which God wanted you to do, or assigned you to do, and focus on it with all your heart.
• You must have a way of blessing mankind. The essence of living is all about impact. The number of people you are able to influence for God and cause to fulfil the purpose of their being—this gives you Joy and a sense of fulfilment.
- Christianity or being a born-again believer would be boring and meaningless If you are not involved in the Kingdom building—If you are not doing anything for God, that is, If you are not working for Him.
- You would see yourself being surrounded by any number of problems or challenges, and you would be weighed down by them.
- This does not mean when you engaged in the work of God—working in your local church or ministry or wherever you may find yourself—you would not have challenges, you would.
BUT the truth is, when the challenges are rolled to God in prayers by faith, as you are busy with God's work, you would not even know that you are having challenges, and would not know how those challenges or predicaments are taken care of by God Himself—without your involvement or being stressed. - Thus, endeavour to discover your place, the part to fulfill in the overall plan and programme of God—for His Kingdom on the earth (Ephesians 4:16).
• Plan your life:
- Get acquainted with your Maker—God.
- Relate with Him intimately that you may discover the purpose of your being—why He created you.
- Pray to discover purpose and to fulfil it.
- Focus on the assignment—your God-given purpose—after you have discovered it.
- Know that God will reward you based on the assignment given to you and how faithfully you do it.
- You cannot afford to live carelessly, and being carefree about life. Your life is precious, it should not be wasted.
- Do not leave the planet earth without the accomplishment of your God's given purpose. Do not take your life for granted!
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- Should there be any ailment in your body, I declare your healing now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
- Whatever is not of God in your body is cursed and completely uprooted in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Peace!
STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. As you took the steps A and B your name is written in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).
- If you took the steps As highlighted above, congratulations, It means you are saved—born-again. Join a Word based church in your area and Town or city, and be part of whatever they are doing there. Peace!
