WHAT YOU CAN SEE 2
27 Then they told him, and said: “We went to the land where you sent us. It truly flows with milk and honey, and this is its fruit.
28 Nevertheless the people who dwell in the land are strong; the cities are fortified and very large; moreover we saw the descendants of Anak there.
29 The Amalekites dwell in the land of the South; the Hittites, the Jebusites, and the Amorites dwell in the mountains; and the Canaanites dwell by the sea and along the banks of the Jordan.”
30 Then Caleb quieted the people before Moses, and said, “Let us go up at once and take possession, for we are well able to overcome it.”
31 But the men who had gone up with him said, “We are not able to go up against the people, for they are stronger than we.”
32 And they gave the children of Israel a bad report of the land which they had spied out, saying, “The land through which we have gone as spies is a land that devours its inhabitants, and all the people whom we saw in it are men of great stature.
33 There we saw the giants (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); and we were like grasshoppers in our own sight, and so we were in their sight.”
Numbers 13:27-33 (NKJV)
Out of those who went spying, a minute or small percent of them with a renewed mind said they were able, Caleb and Joshua: "THEN CALEB QUIETED THE PEOPLE BEFORE MOSES, AND SAID, “LET US GO UP AT ONCE AND TAKE POSSESSION, FOR WE ARE WELL ABLE TO OVERCOME IT" (Numbers 13:30 NKJV).
READ: Numbers 14:6,24
A renewed mind that works in line with God's Word is always positive at the things of God. Such a mind always inclines to whatever is of God, affirming that It is possible or doable or achievable. God is a God of possibilities. A God Who says and do.
Whatever God has told you is possible and doable. There is nothing impossible or undoable with God: "BUT JESUS LOOKED AT THEM AND SAID TO THEM, “WITH MEN THIS IS IMPOSSIBLE, BUT WITH GOD ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE" (Matthew 19:26 NKJV).
What you see is very important. It was what the spies saw that determined their destiny: "THERE WE SAW THE GIANTS (the descendants of Anak came from the giants); AND WE WERE LIKE GRASSHOPPERS IN OUR OWN SIGHT, AND SO WE WERE IN THEIR SIGHT” (Numbers 13:33 NKJV).
They saw the giants and they concluded and saw themselves like grasshoppers. Those giants were not the ones who said they were grasshoppers, they were the ones who saw themselves that way. The way you see yourself is the way you would be seen by others. What you call yourself is what you would be called by others. They were not stopped by those giants they saw but they were stopped and made unable by their own mindsets or perspectives or viewpoints. Those giants might not even know what they were thinking in their mind but they thought it and concluded that they could not face the giants, without any attempt or confrontation from the giants.
Now, the truth is, what God would ask you to do would always be bigger or greater than you, your faith, exposure and experience. But you as a believer should know that when It is God Who says it, It is as good as done. You should not put into consideration the opposition, the strength, stature, or the physique of the opposition. You should not be moved by what you see that stands as an obstacle. If you started considering what you see physically without considering the God factors, you definitely would be afraid and be wavering in your faith and see yourself unfit for the assignment and being unable to do it.
Those people could be right in their assessment about the land, but their problem was their untrained and untransformed mind. They could not see with God's eyes, His perspectives or viewpoints. They were inclined to the natural side of life, they think about their own physical strength alone as compared to the giants they saw—they failed to consider what we call God's factor or strength or power or ability. They were thinking of their own physical power alone.
A lot of believers are found in the category or group of those Israelite spies, they have the same line of thinking. Such people do believe that not all things should be spiritualized, even when they professed to be born-again. They had the thought that when military might is being talked about, spirituality should not be thought of or mentioned or talked about. But only those who are myopic or small minded that would think or talk like that. Someone who knows God would not be undermining Him or under-rating Him or rating-Him-below what He is capable of doing and what He could do through them, His vessels: "BUT THE PEOPLE WHO KNOW THEIR GOD SHALL BE STRONG, AND CARRY OUT GREAT EXPLOITS" (Daniel 11:32 NKJV).
Someone who knows God would not look down on His power. God is Mightier than the mightiest, Greater than the greatest, and Bigger than the biggest. He is the Jehovah Man of war: "THE LORD IS A WARRIOR; YAHWEH IS HIS NAME! (Exodus 15:3 NLT).
"JEHOVAH IS A MAN OF WAR; JEHOVAH, HIS NAME."
Exodus 15:3 (DARBY)
"ADONAI IS A WARRIOR; ADONAI IS HIS NAME."
Exodus 15:3 (Complete Jewish Bible)
Peace.
