9 FOR THIS REASON WE ALSO, SINCE THE DAY WE HEARD IT, DO NOT CEASE TO PRAY FOR YOU, AND TO ASK THAT YOU MAY BE FILLED WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIS WILL IN ALL WISDOM AND SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING;
10 THAT YOU MAY WALK WORTHY OF THE LORD, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God;
11 strengthened with all might, according to His glorious power, for all patience and longsuffering with joy."
Colossians 1:9-11 (NKJV)

• God's perfect Will is known through the renewing of your mind and praying (Romans 12:2; Colossians 1:9).

  • A believer should work on his or her mind through reading, studying and pondering on the Word of God and praying in the Holy Spirit, new tongues (Joshua 1:8; 1 Corinthians 14:2).
    If what is shared here is done consistently by a believer, his or her knowledge of God's Will would increase. - The Will of God is known through the knowledge of the Word of God, as the Holy Spirit illuminated or enlightened the mind of such a believer (Ephesians 1:16-18).

• As a believer or minister is being filled with knowledge of God's Will, his or her understanding of the assignment or ministry given to them changed: "FOR THIS REASON WE ALSO, SINCE THE DAY WE HEARD IT, DO NOT CEASE TO PRAY FOR YOU, AND TO ASK THAT YOU MAY BE FILLED WITH THE KNOWLEDGE OF HIS WILL IN ALL WISDOM AND SPIRITUAL UNDERSTANDING" (Colossians 1:9 NKJV).

  • The role you play at the initial stage or the onset of being used by God would surely change or metamorphose as you progress in the work.
  • It is not that the person is unstable or uncertain about what God had said, but as you are gradually being filled with the knowledge of God's Will, your understanding of how God intends to use you increases.
  • When you started out in the ministry, you may have a general kind of calling.
    But as you getting matured, you ministry becomes more specific.
  • As you get older in the ministry, It gets more and more dangerous to stray into areas of ministry God has not called you.
  • Apostle Paul constantly introduced or said about himself as one who was doing what he was doing because of the Will of God (1 Corinthians 1:1; 2 Corinthians 1:1; Ephesians 1:1; Colossians 1:1; 2 Timothy 1:1).

• Most of the people who become stagnant in the ministry work are those who missed it in this area.

  • If at the time you ought to move to another phase of your ministry work you did remain at the phase you are, you would have missed God, because He would have moved, gone ahead of you, and you being left in the stage or phase you had been.
  • It is when your understanding of God's Will increased that you walked worthy of Him, fully pleasing Him, being fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of Him (Colossians 1:10).
  • Your fruitfulness or progress gets stunted or stopped at the level of your knowledge of God's Will. In other words, when you stopped knowing the Will of God concerning your work, assignment or ministry, your become stagnant.
  • There is no way a minister remains with what he or she initially started with in the ministry work. Ministry or vision given you by God evolves, because He would not show you everything about your work at the onset or initial stage.
  • As you obey and you are faithful in the level you are, God moves you to another phase or level, all would not be shown you at a time, and you would not arrive at or get to the last stage or phase of your work or ministry overnight. It has to be gradual, because God does things progressively and systematically.

• Your faithfulness at one level makes you a suitable candidate for the next level, because you are being equipped with the knowledge or experience needed at the next phase in the current phase or stage you are.

  • Thus, If you are unfaithful at the present level or stage or phase, you are not eligible for the next phase or level or stage. Because what It requires to do the work at the next phase or stage is not yet acquired by you—because of your unfaithfulness at the current phase.
  • As your knowledge of Him increases, your pleasing of Him increases as well, and likewise your fruitfulness in the work of ministry increases. They are all interrelated.
  • It is your faithfulness at the phase or level you are, your doggedness, that would paint or imprint or impress in your heart the pictures of the next level or stage you are going—the new phase God is taking you.
  • You get to know the next phase in your thoughts. God will cause you to see, open your understanding to see, someone or people who are doing similar things which God wanted you to do.
  • Thus, stop going about with a stale vision. There is no way God would still be asking you to keep on with the same thing you started with five or ten years ago. God is progressive, He would have added to what you are doing. Where you started is not the end, It is the foundation, He wanted you to make progress, that is not your destination.
  • I met a minister of God, he was telling me about what God told him close to twenty years ago, he was still holding on to that. If you are faithful in it, He would have added another thing, that is, He would have given you a fresh instruction, a new thing to do, to be added to the initial instruction or vision or command given to you.

• Thus, endeavour to study and ponder regularly on the Word of God, and pray without ceasing or relenting, that you might be filled with the knowledge of God's Will.

  • It is in doing this you become more fruitful and pleasing to God, and your knowing or understanding of Him increases. In other words, your communion or fellowshipping with God increases.

• You will not fail in Jesus' name.

  • Should there be any sickness in your body, receive your healing now in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
  • Whatever is not of God in your body is uprooted totally in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
    Peace!
