SPIRITUAL ABORTION
18 DELILAH REALIZED HE HAD FINALLY TOLD HER THE TRUTH, so she sent for the Philistine rulers. “Come back one more time,” she said, “for he has finally told me his secret.” So the Philistine rulers returned with the money in their hands.
19 DELILAH LULLED SAMSON TO SLEEP WITH HIS HEAD IN HER LAP, AND THEN SHE CALLED IN A MAN TO SHAVE OFF THE SEVEN LOCKS OF HIS HAIR. IN THIS WAY SHE BEGAN TO BRING HIM DOWN, AND HIS STRENGTH LEFT HIM."
Judges 16:18,19 (NLT)
• Samson reveals the secret of his power to Delilah. Truly, there is no fun in Sin.
- If God has deposited His Grace in your life, know that there is a purpose for it. Whatever God has given you to fulfil in life would be destroyed by sin, If you indulged in it; therefore, stay away from it: "ABSTAIN FROM ALL APPEARANCE OF EVIL" (1 Thessalonians 5:22 KJV).
"STAY AWAY FROM EVERY KIND OF EVIL."
1 Thessalonians 5:22 (NLT)
- If the thing appears to be evil, It might not even be evil, but It appears to be one, abstain or stay away.
- When Samson toiled with Sin, he lost the Anointing given to him to liberate the people he was assigned to minister to.
- Your carelessness is being watched and monitored by the devil and his agents, thus, do not go to their territory lest you become a prey (1 Peter 5:8).
• Your gift or anointing is meant to make profit, that is, to bless other people; do not lose it on Delilah's lap (1 Corinthians 12:7).
- A believer should be able to discipline himself or herself. It is not everything that your flesh demands for that you give to it. If what your flesh is craving or thirsting for is contrary to God's Will or Word, do not grant It (Romans 6:12-14).
READ: Galatians 5:16,17 - Sinful appetite should be destroyed (Colossians 3:5,6). You should also know that appetite for sin can be aroused or stimulated when you exposed your mind to certain things; thus, you have to be circumspect.
- Someone who used to be a fornicator or an adulterer before he or she accepted Christ Jesus as Lord and Saviour would have to be careful not to expose himself or herself to things that can arouse or stimulate a desire or longing for such a thing (Galatians 6:7,8).
a. Wisdom demands that such a person should avoid certain content online, and be wary of some app that can expose him or her to such a thing.
b. Such should also avoid the gathering of those who practice such a thing—should not hangout with them. - Appetite for Sin would not be aroused If you are not exposed, your mind is not exposed, to things that are not edifying.
• You are a child of purpose or destiny, thus, do not disappoint God. Samson did let God down, he disappointed Him: "A SOLDIER DOES NOT TAKE PART IN THINGS THAT DON'T HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH THE ARMY. HE WANTS TO PLEASE HIS COMMANDING OFFICER" (2 Timothy 2:4 New International Reader’s Version).
- The goal of whoever is enlisted in God's army should be mainly to please the commanding officer, Jesus Christ, Who enlisted him or her.
- Samson disappointed God because of lustful appetite. Stop living a carefree life, there is a purpose for your life.
- If you disappointed God Who reposed His trust in you, He would not be pleased with it.
• The truth is, believers are not called to revelry or jollification. We are called to be partners with God, building His Kingdom on planet earth.
- The goal of every believer should be on how to expand the Kingdom of God on earth. Thus, If whatever you are doing is not contributing directly or indirectly to the Kingdom, such is unimportant in the sight of God.
- Everything about a believer should directly or indirectly has a way of contributing to the Kingdom of God on earth. Your gifts, work, or career should be for Kingdom purpose, and contribute to its growth.
- If I may ask, What is the purpose of your living? Or What are you living for?
- Endeavour to discover God's purpose for your life that your life might be meaningful.
- Samson aborted God's plan and purpose for his life. What he was assigned to fulfill, he could not because of uncontrollable appetite for inordinate affection.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- Should there be any ailment in your body, I declare your healing now in Jesus' mighty name.
- The hold is totally broken and never to rise again in Jesus' mighty name.
Peace!
