OBEDIENCE AND FAITHFULNESS
"NOT so with My servant Moses; HE IS FAITHFUL IN ALL MY HOUSE."
Numbers 12:7 (NKJV)
1 THEREFORE, holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling, CONSIDER THE APOSTLE AND HIGH PRIEST OF OUR CONFESSION, CHRIST JESUS,
2 WHO WAS FAITHFUL TO HIM WHO APPOINTED HIM, AS MOSES ALSO WAS FAITHFUL IN ALL HIS HOUSE.
5 AND MOSES INDEED WAS FAITHFUL IN ALL HIS HOUSE AS A SERVANT, for a testimony of those things which would be spoken afterward."
Hebrews 3:1,2,5 (NKJV)
"AND I [Paul] thank Christ Jesus our Lord who has enabled me, BECAUSE HE COUNTED ME FAITHFUL, putting me into the ministry."
1 Timothy 1:12 (NKJV)
• What counts in the Christian Faith is not the number of years you have been in the faith, but your obedience and faithfulness to the strategic instructions given to you by God.
- When you do not usually do or obey what you are specifically told or instructed to do by God; you are indirectly delaying your progress in the things of the Spirit.
- Obedience and faithfulness to whatever God has instructed you to do give speed and cause you to rise faster in the ladder of leadership.
- Those who usually treat God's words or instructions or commands with triviality are always lagged behind or put aside when God is promoting in His Kingdom.
• Commitment to God, and not to man, would mark you out for greatness in God's Kingdom.
- The ultimate concern of whoever would be promoted or lifted by God should be a commitment to God's instructions or commands. Dedication to your assignment, regardless of how anyone feels or thinks about it.
- Know that any effort to please men would cause you to lose favour with God (Galatians 1:10).
- As good as it is to follow men, having a mentor or spiritual parent; the most important thing that God will hold you accountable for are the instructions given to you personally—things He commanded you to do. Whether you obediently do them or not, your faithfulness in the doing of such things.
- God would not hold your spiritual parent or mentor responsible for your laxity or failure in whatever He has commanded you to do. The blame would solely be on you If you failed in whatever you are instructed to do by God.
- This is why It is important to know that no matter how you revere your mentor or instructor or spiritual parent or whoever you are relating with as an authority over your life; the instructions given you by God should not be trivialized or toyed with.
• Thus, what counts and gives speed in the Kingdom of God on earth is your obedience and faithfulness.
- Some have been in the ministry work for any number of years, but they at times are surprised why they are still at the level they are.
- Those who are in such conditions might have slacked or lagged behind at one time or another in their journey in the ministry or their Christian faith. They might have trivialized the instructions given them by God at one time or another, which they did not know that what they failed to do counts and matters to God at the time they did it.
- This thing may later be realized by some, whilst some would not. Those who could not realize or figure out why they are behind would think God probably favours some and does not favour some (Romans 2:11).
- The blame for anyone's failure or being behind could not be laid on God, for He is always right. The person concerned must have missed it somewhere and sometimes when he or she did not know.
- When such a person realized where he or she had missed it, they could still plead for mercy to be considered again, or be given another chance; for God is the God of second chance.
• If you find yourself in the situation described in this piece, do not think it is over—that would not help you.
- Also, do not allow bitterness—caused by, or expressive of, severe pain, grief, or regret—that would make you to be standing against the young ones that might be rising on the ladder of leadership.
- Instead, Use your experience, what you learned from your mistakes, to train others. Beauty will come out of your ashes (Isaiah 61:3); If you allowed the love of God in you to find expression by helping others—making yourself a part of other people's success stories.
• You will not fail in Jesus' name.
- Should there be any ailment in your body, receive your healing now in Jesus' name.
- Whatever is not planted by God in your body, such is uprooted totally in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
Peace!
