IT MIGHT NOT BE YOUR SIN THAT CAUSED IT 2

1 Now as Jesus passed by, HE SAW A MAN WHO WAS BLIND FROM BIRTH.
2 And His disciples asked Him, saying, “Rabbi, WHO SINNED, THIS MAN OR HIS PARENTS, THAT HE WAS BORN BLIND?”
3 Jesus answered, “NEITHER THIS MAN NOR HIS PARENTS SINNED, BUT THAT THE WORKS OF GOD SHOULD BE REVEALED IN HIM."
John 9:1-3 (NKJV)

• If it seems you are living right, yet you are having different challenges, and it was like you are a wicked person in the sight of the people, like the people of Malta island did accuse Paul of being a murderer.

  • It could be that God has permitted some of the things you have passed through, or you are passing through, that His works might be revealed in your life. In other words, He may have permitted those things in order to use your life to prove a point (John 9:1-3).
  • It could also be that the devil is behind those things because he was threatened by your assignment, what God has purposed to use you to accomplish on earth. That, through the experiences you gather in the tribulations, you will be a comfort to others who might be passing through such or similar things.
  • And also the tribulations possibly have been permitted to build a godly character, approved character, in you (Romans 5:3,4).
  • Humans tend to learn spiritual things better and faster under challenges, more than when they are in comfort.
GOD may have permitted those things in order to learn some vital spiritual lessons that would help you, and enhance your leadership ability; in the assignment He has for you.

• Thus, whatever you may be passing through, as a believer who is living right, walking in the light of the Word of God, and being submissive to God's Will; should not be discouraged or dismayed.

  • Other people, even some Believers, might be speaking derisively about you, and some might be mocking and backbiting; do not be despaired.
  • They may have called you an evil person, or they said you were committing sin secretly, that is why you are experiencing such things. Let God defend and vindicate you If you are truly His (Job 8:3,4; 11:1-6; 15:5,6,34,35).
  • Wait and do not give up, let God show you a token of His mercy that those who hate you, those who are criticizing you, may see and be ashamed:
"SHOW ME A SIGN OF YOUR GOODNESS. WHEN MY ENEMIES [those who speak derisively about you, those who badmouth you, and those who mock you] LOOK, THEY WILL BE ASHAMED. You, Lord, have helped me and comforted me" (Psalm 86:17 New Century Version).

"SHEW ME A TOKEN FOR GOOD, THAT THEY WHICH HATE ME MAY SEE IT, AND BE ASHAMED; FOR THOU, JEHOVAH, HAST HELPED ME AND COMFORTED ME."
Psalm 86:17 (DARBY)

• One important or pertinent thing that you should not forget is that you should not SUFFER as an evil DOER (1 Peter 4:15,16).

  • Let whatever you are passing through, the sufferings or challenges or tribulations or whatever, be a trial of faith which God knows about and permitted by Him for a purpose (James 1:2-4).
  • If you are suffering as an evil DOER that would not attract any reward from God, rather you are expected to repent and right your wrongs.
  • If you are suffering because of your evil way or your disobedient to the Word of God, you had better repented and right your wrong.
  • Truly, there are some who claimed to be of God, claimed to be Believers, and look like one outwardly, but in character they denied Him:
"SUCH PEOPLE CLAIM THEY KNOW GOD, BUT THEY DENY HIM BY THE WAY THEY LIVE. THEY ARE DETESTABLE AND DISOBEDIENT, WORTHLESS FOR DOING ANYTHING GOOD" (Titus 1:16 NLT).
    READ: 2 Timothy 3:5-7
  • Someone may be pious in outlook, meek and gentle in appearance, but such may be far away from God.
THERE are wolves in sheep clothing: “BEWARE OF FALSE PROPHETS, WHO COME TO YOU IN SHEEP'S CLOTHING, BUT INWARDLY THEY ARE RAVENOUS WOLVES" (Matthew 7:15).
  • A believer should be circumspect not to fall into the hand of such a person.

12 DEAR FRIENDS, DON'T BE SURPRISED AT THE FIERY TRIALS YOU ARE GOING THROUGH, AS IF SOMETHING STRANGE WERE HAPPENING TO YOU. 13 INSTEAD, BE VERY GLAD—FOR THESE TRIALS MAKE YOU PARTNERS WITH CHRIST IN HIS SUFFERING, SO THAT YOU WILL HAVE THE WONDERFUL JOY OF SEEING HIS GLORY when IT IS REVEALED TO ALL THE WORLD. 14 IF YOU ARE INSULTED BECAUSE YOU BEAR THE NAME OF CHRIST, YOU WILL BE BLESSED, FOR THE GLORIOUS SPIRIT OF GOD RESTS UPON YOU. 15 IF YOU SUFFER, HOWEVER, IT MUST NOT BE FOR MURDER, STEALING, MAKING TROUBLE, OR PRYING INTO OTHER PEOPLE'S AFFAIRS. 16 BUT IT IS NO SHAME TO SUFFER FOR BEING A CHRISTIAN. PRAISE GOD FOR THE PRIVILEGE OF BEING CALLED by HIS NAME!"
1 Peter 4:12–16 (NLT)

• You will not fail in Jesus' name.

  • Whatever is not of God in your life, such is rebuked and completely rooted out in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
  • Hold of sickness in your life is totally broken and completely destroyed in the mighty name of Jesus Christ.
    Peace!

STEPS TO SALVATION
• Take notice of this:
IF you are yet to take the step of salvation, that is, yet to be born-again, do it now, tomorrow might be too late (2 Corinthians 6:1,2; Hebrews 3:7,8,15).
a. Acknowledge that you are a sinner and confess your Sins (1 John 1:9); And ask Jesus Christ to come into your life (Revelation 3:20).
b. Confess that you believe in your heart that Jesus Christ is Lord, and that you confess it with your mouth, Thus, you accept Him As your Lord and Saviour (Romans 10:9,10).
c. As you took the steps A and B your name is written in the Book of Life (Philippians 4:3; Revelation 3:8).
