GRACE ACCORDING TO THE MEASURE OF CHRIST'S GIFT
"But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ’s gift."
Ephesians 4:7 (NKJV)
Grace, divine influence or anointing, is given to every believer according to the measure of Christ's gift (Ephesians 4:7). In other words, the gift and the calling of an individual believer determines the grace or the anointing that would be released on him or her. The measure of the gift determines the measure of the anointing or grace that would be put on him or her.
Further down in that same chapter 4 of the Ephesians, in verses number 8 and 11, Apostle Paul talked about the ministry gifts given by Christ and listed the five of them:
8 THEREFORE HE SAYS: “WHEN HE ASCENDED ON HIGH, HE LED CAPTIVITY CAPTIVE, AND GAVE GIFTS TO MEN." 11 AND HE HIMSELF GAVE SOME TO BE APOSTLES, SOME PROPHETS, SOME EVANGELISTS, AND SOME PASTORS AND TEACHERS" (Ephesians 4:8,11 NKJV).
The point being made is, you would be anointed or engraced for what you are gifted and called to do. No matter how you try or labour, you would not be anointed or engraced for what you are not called or assigned or gifted to do.
There is an anointing to operate as an apostle, and the anointing to operate as a prophet, and the anointing to operate as an evangelist, and the anointing to pastor or shepherd the flock of God, and there is an anointing to teach, operate as a teacher. In other words, whatever you are called to do, the commensurate anointing needed to operate, in the office you are called, would be given to you. However, you will not be given the anointing on what you are not called or assigned or gifted to do.
This same is applicable to those who operate in the help ministries; singers or psalmists, and whatever your assignment is in the Body of Christ.
What you are called to do determines the anointing or the grace that would be placed on your life. This is why there is no wisdom in comparing yourself with another person (2 Corinthians 10:12), or striving to be like someone else, or trying to function or operate in the office of ministry you are not called or assigned (Galatians 2:7,8). The moment you veer off from what you are called or assigned to do, you begin to dwindle in the grace and anointing given to you. You would see yourself toiling and struggling to get things done, because you are not assigned to do what you are striving to do in the first place. According to the text, the measure of Christ's gift determines the grace or the anointing on your life.
Also know that, anointing is given in measures. When a measure is given to you, you can cause God to increase it If you are faithful in whatever you are called or assigned to do. It can also be decreased If you are unfaithful and deviated from what you are called to do. Anointing on someone's life can be lost or made dry completely, through the indulgence of the flesh, apathy in the spiritual exercise, and unfaithfulness in the work given to you.
If you also switch to the natural side of life; you switch or give more attention to the pursuit of the mundane, material things, you may lose the anointing on your life. It is real, anointing on someone's life can be lost If the person does not keep it.
IF there is God's fire or anointing on your life, I want to enjoin you to keep it—for It cannot be bought with money (Acts 8:18-20).
You will not miss it in Jesus' name. Peace.
