We've become addicted to technology and man made innovations. BUT the truth is.... Nature had it right all along.

When we step in to a natural landscape, our bodies experience a shift from the SYMPATHETIC DIVISION OF THE CENTRAL NERVOUS SYSTEM which handles stress to the PARASYMPATHETIC DIVISION which handles rest.
This activates the bodies relaxation response were in breathing slows down in deep ends, internal dialogue becomes less incessant, worries are pressing and one is able to appreciate the present moment.

The Japanese have an expression called SHINRIN-YOKU which translates to FOREST BATHING. It can be defined as taking in the atmosphere of the forest in order to recharge the soul.
