My 10 minute work trip to Antwerp (Belgium)

in #blog7 years ago

This morning i had to go to Antwerpen to a spreader that was not going to twin position.
(twin position is that they can pick up to 20ft containers at the same time)
The company i had to go was already looking for a day and a half to see what problem was, but could not find anything.

When the crane driver push the button twin mode when the spreader is on 40 ft the twin box has to go down

When everything is working fine the crane driver can also open the twin unit by using big cilinders

At the same time there is a ruler that counts how far the twin units are open
He counts by a sensor

In this case the sensor was broken and and there for there was no counting
and no counting means no Twin mode

Within 10 minutes i fixed the problem and the spreader was working fine again,
Because the weather was good i looked for a nice place in the sun and watch for a hour of 2 how they were working with the spreader on a ship and than drove back to Holland

Sounds like an exciting, but still very exhausting day. Hope you had time for a coffee break, hahaha.
Goed weekend alvast.

En op de terug weg mezelf op een uitsmijter getrakteerd ,

What a lively working day!
