Foodie has an itchy throat
I've got an itch in my throat and I'm just hoping that'll be the worst of it!
So my boyfriend has been sick for a couple of days now. Good old flu again. The poor guy seems to bring every virus back home with him this season, since he's had the flu once or twice before.
We've had to cancel our trip to the Ardennes for the archery contest. His dad went with two of his friends and we were supposed to go with them. There's always next time! I wasn't looking forward to carrying my equipment with me for two days anyway. His dad said we'll just go to Germany in may to do an archery parcour there. Sounds much more relaxing to me when there isn't a contest going on.
I think some of my boyfriend's symptoms are starting to light up a bit, though the fever is still returning now and then. By now, the most annoying part of it is the headache which he can't seem to shake. So yesterday evening, after he took some painkillers and was trying to sleep, I got really annoyed.
See, there's a couple of guys who are allowed on my boyfriend's dad's terrain in this little trailer to hang out a bit, as long as they behave and stick to the rules. They already take more people with them than was the original agreement, but that part is tolerated. My boyfriend's dad is very strict about the rules though and expects these guys to respect them. So they have to leave at 10 on weekdays and 12 (midnight) in the weekends. They usually stick to this, but yesterday, my boyfriend's dad was away from home.
It seemed to me like they were just a little bit louder this time and next to that, they didn't leave until 1:20. I was so fudging pissed off, because I just wanted my boyfriend to get a good sleep! I was also pretty mad that they were taking advantage of my boyfriend's dad's hospitality and breaking his simple rules.
This morning, my boyfriend told me he managed to sleep alright and the main reasons he awoke during the night were the same as before, the flu symptoms. So that's a relieve. I was the only one who was kept up so late. Either way, this story is going straight back to his dad, because leaving so late is definitely not going to be okay for him.
This morning, my boyfriend also told me his headache is still there. I'm so sad for him, because he's really had it with this stupid headache and is pretty desperate to make it go away, but doesn't know how. I hope he gets some relieve soon!
Meanwhile, I'm just hanging out on the couch with him and I spend some time on the pc now and then. I've played a bit of Elder Scrolls Online and I do a little bit of Steeming. Sometimes I read a magazine and other times, I just watch the Discovery/National Geographic channels with him.
We were supposed to have brunch with part of his family tomorrow, but I doubt we'll be able to go. We'll see!
I've got a couple of plans for things to do and posts to make, but for now, I'm just hoping my itchy throat will be all there is to it for me. "That's how it starts!" he told me. I can't get sick now, I've got my boyfriend to care for.
Happy Easter everyone!

Hope you feel better soon. Hi, I'm Omi and I'm new to Steemit. I crossed your blog because Keni made a post with the names of members in the SMG group on Facebook. So I'm checking everyone out. Decided to follow you :) Get well, I hope to see more from you in the future. :)
Hi there Omi, welcome to Steemit! Happy you came across my blog :-)
I hope you're enjoying yourself here so far!
You should have gone to those people and told them your bf was sick and needed some rest... they would have probably gone away.
Hope your boyfriend gets better... and hopefully, you won't get sick too!
Are you enjoying ESO? I haven't played a MMO since GW2, i can't actually, i got addicted to GW2, instead of going to classes i spent my whole days farming COF to get the legendary dagger, this was back in the old days where getting a legendary was really hard... I had to quit, split my 1k gold between my friends and that was it, i actually went back and played a little of the expansions, but without my guildmates, it was really boring...
Yeaaah I should have, but I'm a big wuss when it comes to talking to people. And after midnight, there was a lot of rain, so I didn't want to go outside anymore. Couldn't hear them through the rain either, so by then, it was just a test to see how badly they would break the rules.
My boyfriend is feeling a little better now and so far, I just feel like I have a cold, so that's good I guess!
I'm enjoying ESO so far! I'm a big gatherer, so on my solo character, I basically run around and gather materials a lot. I just do quests and dungeons when I happen to stumble upon them while gathering. Not the best way to see everything in the game, but I'll see other parts when I play with my boyfriend.
Oh I've had my addiction to MMOs aswell, but for me it was WoW. I was doing loads of raiding and got myself in one of the two hardcore raiding guilds. That meant I had to farm a lot outside of raids aswell to keep up. GW2 meant a little addition to WvW, but not as badly as WoW was. And hey, GW2's WvW did get me my boyfriend, so that was time well spend!
I also played WoW but never got as addicted as i got to GW2, played WoW on private servers and then moved up to the real thing since i got tired of all the bugs that raids and dungeons had! I either played a lock, shaman or hunter!
GW2 bringing couples together! You should write a post about that story if you haven't already!
I basically went from my brother's WoW account to private servers back to the actual servers but with my own account. I played shadow priest all throughout my hardcore raiding days. Later I played mage for some random WoW-ing, which was fun aswell.
I definitely should write that story one day! I keep thinking that's a good idea, but then I forget about it, bah!
My first character was a mage, i played with it until level 50, but then one of my friends started playing and wanted to be a mage and i leveled up my lock instead, been in love with affliction warlock ever since... a couple of curses and emulation and bam, there goes your whole life !
That's what I loved about shadowpriests. Plenty of DoTs to go around and some healing aswell! They kind of ruined the shadowpriest gameplay for me in Legion though, which is why I switched to mage.
Dang. It is how it starts. Here's hoping it's a quickie!
Nooo don't say that! I was still living in sweet denial...
Aye, crossing my fingers :-)
Having the flu is super annoying, it takes the energy away from you, I have it like a week ago.
Make sure to take some Vitamin C in the meantime.
Very annoying indeed! We're trying to eat extra healthy now :D
OH NO! You've had to cancel. Onnnnn! That's such a bummer. /hugs
Keep warm, take lemon and honey, brew up some herbs, grab some goldenseal for the throat (tincture), and hopefully you can nip this in the bud.
Oh, it's such a bummer about the contest. Well, I hope you'll be able to make it to the next one.
Thanks @binkyprod! To be honest, I wasn't looking forward to the contest much anyway, so I'm not sad about it myself. My boyfriend was disappointed though. But hey, there's plenty of others he can sign up for. His dad goes to contests like once every two weeks during summer time!
Oh then, he can make up for it this Summer :) Right now, focus on your health, which is the most important thing.
Ohh u.u feel better soon! (both of you <3) When I'm not feeling well, everything feels much louder and I also get agitated pretty easily. Alas, what's done is done. Make sure that while you take care of your boyfriend that you take care of you too okay? c:
Oh yes, that sounds familiar. I basically have that with every headache too.
He's feeling a little better now and I'm not feeling any more sick than with a regular cold so far, so who knows! We'll be okay, thank you so much @shello <3
I've debated on getting earplugs because I cannot get used to white noise when sleeping!
I'm glad to hear your conditions are improving! :D
Ooh, I have earplugs, special made for my ears even. Specially made for people who like to sleep on their sides. Sadly, sleeping with them in my ears while one of my ears is on the pillow will still make my ears hurt after a while. They are ideal for when you sleep on your back though! I learned to just use one the whole night and when I switch sides, I switch the earplug to whichever ear isn't on my pillow. The pillow drowns out quite a bit of noise for the other one.
Yay, unwanted earplug info! I've had some experience! My ears are too small for regular ones. They hurt quite a lot... Anyway, just be sure to consider your sleeping habits and which would suit you best!
Lol, I do that with my earphones when I'm watching videos and laying in bed—it's not as weird as you think! I didn't know that there are specially made ones for side sleepers c: I might want to be checking them out if I have another bout of insomnia soon. I don't understand how people can sleep with a t.v. on
Thankies for the protips <3
I am a horrible sleeper, though when I'm tired enough, I can fall asleep with the tv on, but it should be a bit of a boring show/movie and it's not a long sleep.
I can also take forever to fall asleep. Recently I'm going for the "You did a lot today, now you're actually exhausted approach!" I notice that, when I star watching t.v. I usually lose my focus and KTFO <3
The weather is changing now and many people are having flu. He needs to change his diet to strengthen his immune system. You can still have other plans in the next weeks. Enjoy your weekend :)
Thanks @hanen! We've got plenty of other things on the horizon and he's feeling a little better now, so all should be well soon :D
May god hive him health
just enjoy the life.time is short
Oh its so sorry may god help him
