Hey Steemians,

Normally we eat during new year gourmet also known as raclette grill, but we ate too much raclette grill in the last few days so we decided to eat a Vietnamese dish 'Cơm tấm'. Cơm tấm is a Vietnamese dish made with fractured rice grains. It is usually served with grilled pork (either ribs or shredded) plus the Vietnamese dish bì (thinly shredded pork mixed with cooked and thinly shredded pork skin) over broken rice. We also eat Cơm tấm with veggies like greens and pickled vegatables, along with prawn paste cake, trứng hấp (steamed egg). Also its a perfect combination with a small bowl of nước mắm (fish sauce).

My aunt made also some delicious Korean style of noodles with chicken breast, red chille peper, celery and sesam seed. I wish I knew her receipt, because this dish is so freaking delicious! All I know that she made it really spicey, and I was drinking the whole time haha!

She also made home made wantan soup which was really delicious!

My brother wanted to make his best dish, he made bo luc lac (Vietnamese shaken beef). I love his Vietnamese shaken beef, because it's really good marinated by him. We always call him chef cook!

One of the most popular Vietnamese dishes here in the West is Bo Luc Lac. Bo stands for beef and the Luc Lac refers to the shaking of the wok during the baking of the meat. On some menu cards this is translated as "Vietnamese Shaken Beef". With such a name you expect that the meat is shivering on the plate.

Food time

There is a tradition to eat Oliebollen during new years eve, it's dough with raisin (optional white sugar powder). We bought package at the supermarket (Albert Heijn) and make some fresh oliebollen at home to eat during our new years Eve.
