Why you should sleep SOME MORE.
Sleep to most people is what they have to do because their bodies force them to. In fact, I have heard it said, "sleep is for the weak". However, this could not be farther from the truth.
Sleep is a very important activity in the human life cycle. It is neither a nuisance nor inevitable inconvenience but a restorative activity. When you sleep, your brain creates new pathways and heals itself from the previous day's rigors. Even blood vessels and the heart get repaired while asleep. Do you see that it is not something to be treated lightly?
These days, there is a school of thought that tells you to make the most use of your nights because the world esteems hard work and dedication. Yet, will your hard work pay off if you are unhealthy? I used to believe that fallacy too but I have learnt that with systems that work and proper time management, you can achieve whatever it is you want to achieve.
Poor sleeping patterns can lead to memory impairment, depression, heart problems, diabetes, a weakened immune system, weight gain amongst other ailments.
In the event that you lose sleep, you should always make it a priority to catch up on it.
Mind you, each individual needs different amounts of sleep per night, depending on the activities you engage in and other factors. To determine how much sleep yu need, see how you feel when you wake up. Take note of how long you slept and whether or not you were groggy and sharper when you woke up. Having learnt how much sleep your body needs, take definite steps to get that amount of sleep daily.
Secure your health in little ways like sleeping better.
