Losing my religion, finding inner peace

in #blog7 years ago (edited)

One of the wisest choices I have made recently is detaching myself from the religion train. Everyone who has done this before me knows the relief that comes from abandoning the dogma which we were brainwashed with since childhood. It's not an easy thing to do, but once you do it, the satisfaction and sense of freedom that comes from it is pure bliss. But how many people are able, or even willing, to let go of antiquated ideas and beliefs? Sadly, there are still many people for whom belief in gods is more important than self confidence. Like these folks for example :

This "holy" picture that you saw in the video is supposedly miraculous, and it hits the faithful on its own. To punish them for their "sins", I presume? Only they know. Want to see more of what "faith" does to the minds of the weak? Here you go :

These two lovely ladies are "channelling " themselves with luminous beings like Jesus Christ, the Virgin Mary, angels, and so forth. These beings deliver messages through them, and in this case they informed everyone who was there that, very soon, our planet and humankind will ascend to a higher of consciousness, becoming immaterial. Then we will no longer have to worry about mundane tasks such as working, paying bills, and even eating. Isn't that exciting? This blessed day cannot come soon enough, I tell you!

So dealing with the effects of religion on people can be fun, but sad at the same time. I find it weird that in this age of reason and technological advancement, religion still has a tight grip on people's minds. Well, I know for sure that if I ever have children, I will not allow their minds to be poisoned by such dangerous beliefs. So look sharp everyone, religion may be almost dead now, but it will definitely not give up easily.

Is this really true...

Unfortunately, it is.
