HISTORY OF 21th FEB
Global look after Language Day has been experimental annually since 2000 to promote amity and multilingualism around the humanity and to care for all mother languages. It is experiential on February 21 to concede the 1952 Bengali Language Movement in Bangladesh.
The day was proclaimed by the all-purpose league of the United Nations Educational, exact and Cultural business (UNESCO) in November 1999 (30C/62). In its perseverance A/RES/61/266, the United Nations common gathering called on its part states,
To promote the maintenance and armor of every single one languages old by public of the world" on 16 May 2009.In the resolution, the broad-spectrum legislative body proclaimed 2008 as the global day of Languages to promote unity in diversity and intercontinental pact through multilingualism and multiculturalism.
The decree was not compulsory by Rafiqul Islam, a Bengali breathing in Vancouver, Canada. He wrote a epistle to Kofi Annan on 9 January 1998 asking him to suffer a stride to discount the world's languages from extinction by declaring an intercontinental nurse Language Day.
Rafiq planned the go out with as 21 February to observe the 1952 killings in Dhaka during the Language Movement.
