Ok, you're probably wondering how drinking more water is a Money Hack? Well anything that makes or saves you money is a money hack in my books. And drinking water can actually do both. Read on to learn more.

This is a series of Money Hacks to help to make extra money by creating habits in your life. Previously I'd touch on a few of these Money Hacks but wanted to go more in-depth and didn't want to produce a 10,000-word monster article for you to read.

Drink More Water


It's still surprising people don't drink enough water given amount of public education and government campaigns around this health habit, but it's true, people aren't drinking their 8 glasses of water a day.

But did you know that drinking your 8 glasses can help you to save money and might even help you to make more of it.

Save Money by Drinking more Water


The recommended daily intake of water, not fluids, is 8 standard glasses a day. And this isn't surprising given the human body is made of 50-65% water. Because during the day we perspire, breath and visit the bathroom, which reduces the available water in or bodies.

So we need to replenish it somehow.

And it's recommended we should drink 8 glasses of water a day to maintain a healthy fluid supply and aid flushing out toxins that you might be ingesting.

Of course, if you're a regular soft drink consumer then some of these toxins might be in the very fluids your drinking.

For instance when your drinking cola all day, does your pee come out a dark brown?

Of course, not.

So that's your body processing the fluid and cleaning out the toxins. But, something is needed to flush these toxins periodically from our bodies and this is where the water comes in.

But of course, if you're drinking 8 glasses of water a day, you might not be so thirsty and turn to carbonated drinks to keep you going throughout the day. Thus, saving you money.

And if you have a sugar addiction you can try Detox Water recipes or Fruit Infused Water which is water that is sweetened naturally.

But if you can just drink your 8 glasses a day it'll save you the most money, and is healthy for you. Plus, you'll make less trips to the dentist and doctors.

Drinking Water helps you to make more money


Did you know when you're dehydrated you make poorer choices?

In fact, brain dehydration is a thing that might impair your cognitive thinking, mood and even memory. And when you're trying to make money, don't you want to be at you peak mental fitness?

Forgetting appointments, being moody and struggling to develop new ideas, will all cost you the opportunity to make more money. So try to get your minimum 8 glasses of water in a day, to ensure it's not dehydration making you too lethargic to pick up the phone and secure that next client, or deal.

And given you're awake 14-16 hours a day we are only talking about a glass every 2 hours.

So do you drink your recommended 8 glasses of water a day?

I certainly do, and only consume coffee, tea, soft drinks and alcohol occasionally.

Plus, I know all that water is flushing out the toxins in my body on a regular basis, which is great for long term health.
