Apparently, today my face doesn’t inspire trust.

It all started this morning at the bus stop.
There were just the two of us standing there. An elderly woman came up to me and asked:

— Excuse me, does bus number two go through the market in Haifa?

I replied:

— Yes, it does.

— Thank you, — she said, and immediately turned to the man standing next to me:

— Excuse me, does bus number two go through the market in Haifa?

— Yes, — the man replied.

— Great, thank you. Then I’ll take that one, — she said and relaxed.

Apparently, my "yes" seemed less kosher to her than the other guy’s.
I stared at her the whole ride. Whatever...

Then I went into a café. I ordered at the counter: "a not-too-hot coffee with milk."
The girl at the register passed the order to another girl who was making coffee. I stood by the bar, waiting.

A minute later the barista looked at me and asked:

— What did you order?

— A not-too-hot coffee with milk, — I replied.

— Got it, — she said, and immediately shouted to the cashier:
— What did he order?

— A not-too-hot coffee with milk, — the cashier answered.

— Got it, — said the girl, and started making my coffee.

Apparently, a cosmic collapse would have occurred, or the fabric of time would have torn apart, if it suddenly turned out I had ordered coffee without milk — or, worse, hot coffee.

I came home upset and told my wife all about it.

— Can you imagine how I felt in those moments?

— Yeah, that’s really unpleasant. People have become so distrustful. They double-check everything. They’ve stopped trusting others…
Hey, do you remember the name of that horror film where everyone was silent and communicated with gestures?

— A Quiet Place.

— Got it, thanks. I’ll just check it on Google to be sure.

— Thanks for the support!
