Rainy Day in A Tinyhouse
Living in a tinyhouse can be a challenge on days like this.
On a normal day, we would spend a lot of our time outside, which you kind of have to when you live in a small space like this.
When you live like we do, Spending a lot of time outside has it's obvious advantages.
- The fresh air, kids sleep much better when they have been out all day.
- The space, when you have 4 kid's space can be a relief.
- The kids can run and jump about as much as they please.
- There is a lot less to tidy up to do outside.
But when it rains it's a whole different story.
You really have to get creative on a rainy day in a tinyhouse, especially when you haven't owned a T.V for the last 5 years.
It is very important to keep the little one's busy and entertained on a damp wet day, or you will end up bang smack in the middle of world war 3.
Toy's are great and work very well to keep them busy, for about 20mins.
The Family Band.
This always works a treat, the kids love music time and after 10 minutes we all swap instruments so this can keep them all busy for a least an hour, we all get to show our skills and it's great fun to just bang away without worrying what it sounds like, unless of course, you happened to be parked next to us at the campsite.
After jamming it's nice to calm down with a bit of Jenga.
It's very important to have lots of puzzles and family games for day's like this, we don't have a lot of storage space, but when you have 4 kid's you have to fill at least half of that space with kid's stuff, or there will be trouble.
Living in a tiny house can be a challenge sometimes, and it takes a lot of getting used to, but the pros of living like this way outnumber the cons.
Pros.
- You get to take your house with you when visiting family.
- The kids sleep way better because they sense you are close by.
- It brings you all closer when you don't have walls to separate you.
- It's way-way cheaper living like this, we only have one bill for insurance, thats it's
- You get to change your view whenever you please, we love to park up mountains or by the sea.
- If you don't like your neighbors you just move.
- You feel completely free, freedom is priceless.
- Housework takes 5 minutes.
- You cant have as much STUFF, which some would say is one of the cons, but trust me less stuff, less stress.
Cons.
- You have to go for a walk to use the toilet, or dig a whole if there isn't one.
Once we was having some mechanical work done on the truck and we had to go and live in a house for 2 weeks, we really hated it and couldn't wait to get back to our little cozy cabin on wheels.
We love this life, it has brought us all together as one unit and the bond between us is stronger than ever before.
peace and love to the world.
Follow us in our tinyhouse on our quest to build an eco-community
So when you become a steemit millionaire do you buy a house again and settle down? Or is your plan to keep doing this? I like what your doing. Just curious on your long term plan.
We could never go back, if we were mega rich we would we would still live like this.
When we start our eco community we will build a small yurt to live in, and maybe one for the kids when they get older. Living simple is great for the soul, even if your rich.
Thanks for the interaction :)
You may have already covered this but how do you organise receiving post/parcels ?
I get all my mail sent to my online post box, and we use my partner's Dad's address. for thing like having a bank account. which we won't need soon because of cryptos :)
thanks for stopping by @newsdesk
I love the way you are raising your kiddos! I'm sure it's not always easy but you are building such a strong bond and teaching them what matters in life! So many kids today are missing out on these basic elements. If I could turn back time I too would have raised my kids this way. Although they are grown now we are moving towards this lifestyle and hope to one day teach our grand kids about living tiny and appreciating everything! Thanks for sharing :)
Thank you @otterbeme
This is so true thanks for sharing
Thank you for sharing your way of life with everyone. Over here in the states we have a weekly program on tv about tiny house living, and also building off-grid. I enjoy the glimpse they give into the process of getting there. As I mentioned in our other chat, I look forward to moving to some open land in the near future, living sustainably and getting back to more pure way of living and quality family life.
Your welcome @steempowerpics
I think someone on here told me about that program tinyhouse big living or something.
I bet you can't wait to get back to basics, it's how we all used to live, so that's why we all long for that type of life.
Good luck and thanks for stopping by :)
Yes, that's the one tiny house big living - it's a great program.
Really inspiring post. I would definitely try to live tiny some day, mean while I need to convince my wife.
Hehe yeah I was lucky with mine, she loved the idea from the get go!
Good luck and let me know how it goes :)
Yeah I just recently made some progress towards it but there is still too much way ahead.

Thanks Brother! Wow what a compliment, it's not always like this, some time we do get on each other's tits, but far less than we did owning a house.
We intend to keep on sharing, until everyone gets board of us ;)
Thanks again @tonyr
