Dragon Dancing and Chinese New Year.
The other day coming out from the supermarket, this beautiful Chinese Dragon dancer were entertaining the crowd and bringing prosperity, good luck and success to the shops around for the year of the Dog.
If you never have seen, or heard, a Dragon dance performance I will let you in on it.
It is VERY NOISY!
As you can see in the photos, right behind the dragon dancer stands the people hitting the big drums and cymbals. It is nearly impossible to hear what anyone is saying to you, if you were to attempt to have a conversation of some sort.
I am always in awe at how good the dragon performers are. Balancing on the poles, standing on shoulders, and perform moving that big dragon head, blinking with the eyes, telling a story.
You can not resist being drawn in and watch.

Yeah I work on the 5th floor and I heard a dragon dance performed outside on the ground, sounded like they were hovering outside our windows! Dragon dancers with wings :)
